(I don't know what a Vornskr looks like. I hope they have teeth.)
Finn ignited his lightsaber as, suddenly, he felt something close. A rustle in the Force, telling him there was danger near. Kauro was right, as much as Finn hated to admit it. The light ahead was a mere distraction; the real danger was at hand.
Literally.
With a eldritch screech, something flew out of the wall at Finn, making him whirl around and decapitate it with his attached, blazing white lightsabers. Arienna let out a small cry when a few more came leaping out of nowhere, making all the padawans activate their lightsabers. The small, but deadly creatures flooded into the room with ghostly cries and knashing teeth, jumping at the alarmed padawans.
Finn twirled every which way, stabbing and slicing through the 'Vornskr.' They kept coming, seemingly from the hole in the ceiling, and though they were getting mowed down the padawan's blades, they did not stop. Arienna stabbed one reluctantly through the skull before letting out a cry of pain as another bit into her arm, sinking it's sharp, long teeth into her skin. The creature was soon crying in pain itself, though, as Finn chopped off one of its legs and then stabbed it through the heart.
"You okay?" he asked Arienna, shielding her from the oncoming attack of creatures.
She clutched her bleeding arm, but nodded. "Yes," she said, her voice cracking. "But there are too many!"
Shouts rose from the other padawans as they each fought their own battle with the nasty beasts, keeping close but spacing out so they didn't end up cutting each other as they swung wildly at the foaming mouths and raving barks from the Vornskr.
~~~
Jauché tensed when he felt a load of fear, confusion and desperation emitting from the Jedi padawans. It was only moments later that the sound of lightsabers whizzing throughout the air, beastly barks, and surprised padawans penetrated the deep darkness and silence of the temple. The Vornskr. Jauché knew it had to be, because he had become slightly accustomed to them in this temple and he could recognize their feel in the Force before they showed up.
However, it was obvious that the other padawans had been taken somewhat by surprise by the barrage of creatures. Jauché had not yet caught up with the group, though he was nearing them and each sound they made took him a step closer to them. He knew for a fact that he could not take them all on, only a fool would think he could. There were too many and they were older and more experienced than he. Jauché could tell by the overwhelming, churning Light side of the Force that had filled this desolate place that the padawans were far too strong for him. The Light side weakened him, it made him feel like retreating to the darkness and hiding. But Jauché didn't like the darkness. He would move towards the light of the Force, and try to find a way to engage in a fight with only one Padawan.
Kaoru felt alive. Adrenaline rushed through his veins as more Vornskrs came into the small room. Everyone was fighting off the beasts that surrounded them. A suppressed smile appeared on his face as he Force pushed one of the beasts away and stabbed another that tried to attack from behind. He looked around to make sure that everyone was fairing well. One injury that wasn't too bad from the looks of it, but one thing bothered him: The several beasts that had backed Sarahi into a corner.
Sarahi was fighting them off well, especially with her Jar'Kai skills, but the Vornskrs were quickly taking up more ground as they inched closer to to her for a death strike. They were going after the smallest person first, the weakest, which Sarahi wasn't. He looked around and slashed a Vornskr away before throwing his lightsaber into the side of a Vornskr. He turned and ran up the wall and pushed off the wall in a long leap all while calling his lightsaber back to his hand. He cut away one more before turning to Sarahi. "I could have handled it!" She protested.
"I ran out of them to take down." He replied and she smirked. They both had come to a mutual understanding of each other, that's why their friendship was so great. They would play off each others words and create a playful argument that, more than often, actually turned into a real argument. But, they were never mad at each other for long. Kaoru smiled inwardly, as he had taught himself to do. Sarahi was the only one that he felt comfortable enough to relax...just a little. And, she was the only one to make Master Narrous smile--- grimace was more like it. Of course, that was after she had slaughtered several training droids that had decided to attack her when she was having a bad day. They had never stood a chance, and Kaoru remembered returning to his room with more than one bruise or burn on his body. Never attack Sarahi when she was having a bad day, or never make her good day a bad day...that was even worse.
"Then go take Cla'Tal's dog things!" Sarahi squinted and joined the other padawans in finishing off the remaining Vornskrs.
A familiar feeling crept into his senses. He scanned the room, looking at each crack in the ceiling or wall, the dark presence growing stronger with each space his eyes passed over. His eyes locked onto one spot and he spun his curved hilt in his hand and prepared himself for a fight. He stared at the spot for a moment longer, and then slowly turned as if he were scanning for any more signs of the Vornskrs. His Force sense never strayed from that one spot in the room behind the stone wall. He studied everyone else, and realized that he was the only one who seemed to feel the Dark Force. Maybe his mind was just playing tricks on him. He wasn't sure. He could be feeling the after effects of the hallucinogen, which wasn't entirely impossible. "We need a healer to take care of Arienna's arm, someone get on it. Everyone else, try and find another way out." He ordered before adding, "Force knows what will attack us next, and I don't want to be in here when that happens."
Kaoru looked back at the spot at the wall where he thought he felt the unwanted presence. Maybe it could lead them out and to whoever had locked them in the temple. He got closer, and closer, and closer...closer---
"I found it!" Sarahi yelled and Kaoru's attention was torn away from the wall. He walked toward Sarahi who was pressing her ear against the wall and knocking on the stone. "Yes, it is definitely hollow behind this wall," she said. She ignited her lightsaber and jammed it into the wall.
"Over here is hollow too. And, here!" Cla'Tal called, and Sarahi switched off her lightsaber to save her efforts of escaping the circle room, if there was an easier way of getting out. Kaoru listened for an echo on the different places the Idiot had pointed out. They were hollow.
"There's gotta be some sort of switch...or something..." Kaoru ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. He could feel everyone's eyes on him. All there eyes. He hated being a leader, he hated being under so much pressure, and he hated that he couldn't come up with a solution.
"Hey," Cla'Tal said uncertainly, "Where did Quiet Girl go?"
~~~~~
He hated the Jedi apprentices that marched through the Temple as if every test he had given them were meant for younglings. Well, they were easy. He would just have to make things harder. The leader of the padawans was getting on his nerves. He was far from being a good leader, incompetent in fact. They other padawans were fools for following a mere boy instead of thinking for themselves. If they went their own ways, they'd be easier to kill. They best thing that would happen is that with the death of the padawans, their Masters would be easier to manipulate in their grief. Masters and their apprentices had a strong bond, one that could destroy the other if one was destroyed.
"Torep! Kahle!" He barked and two figures emerged from the shadows. One Twi'lek and the other a Zabrak. "Separate and kill them." He ordered and the two assassins nodded obediently. "And," he decided to add, "See what that other useless idiot is up to." They nodded and disappeared. The padawans were not going to survive.

With all the action going on with the wild creatures whipping about, Astrid managed to fend off most of them, excluding one, which managed to nick her right lower leg.
There is no pain, there is no hate, there is only the Force. No pain—only the Force. Astrid reminded herself, swirling her glowing blade and beheading the creature.
She kept backing away from the creatures until she found that she had somehow backed out of the room. It was a hallway.
Frowning, Astrid studied the hallway and hesitated before starting down it. She was ready for an attack, but also curious as to what was down the hall.

"We need a healer to take care of Arienna's arm, someone get on it. Everyone else, try and find another way out." He ordered before adding, "Force knows what will attack us next, and I don't want to be in here when that happens."
Trent sighed. A healer. He was an absolutely incredible healer. He had been ever since he was little. But it took energy and Trent was not feeling energetic after fighting off all the creatures.
But then he realized that it was the adorable girl who needed healing and he smiled, going to her. “Hey,” he said, “I’m a healer. Give me your arm and sit still.”

Jauché felt himself being nearly lifted off the ground by the overwhelming Light Force. He was turning a corner, into a deserted hallway that he could feel stretched on for quite some time. He could feel the draining Light Force growing closer. . . closer. . .
His black cloak concealing him from any light in the darkened hallway, Jauché made his way slowly around the corner, remaining completely quiet. Suddenly he jumped when a loud sound of a stone rolling into place reached his ears, indicating that the other end of this hallway had been sealed. When Jauché regained his courage and began walking again, he felt the Light Force grow nearly unbearable. One of the padawans was in this hallway with him.
Biting his lip with anxiety, Jauché leapt onto the ceiling, using the force to keep him there as he saw one of the padawans come walking down the hallway. The only illumination was the gentle glow of the Jedi padawan's lightsaber. Jauché knew his job, and though he didn't like it-- he knew it was impossible to avoid.
Dropping down quietly behind the Padawan, Jauché drew his lightsaber from his cloak and ignited it. The red beam slowly crawled through the air and Jauché spun it once, lifting it nervously. He'd never killed a Jedi before. His master had taught him how to fight one, but he didn't know what to expect.
_____________
Arienna bit her lip at the pain in her arm, but smiled at Trent when he offered to heal it. "Thank you so much," she said softly, extending her arm towards him. She kept still as he gently took her arm and began to work.

Aw, Trent couldn’t help but think as the girl bit her lip in a shy smile, she’s so cute!
But he had to heal her and therefore he took his concentration away from the overwhelming thoughts of her adorable smile and back to her not-so-adorable wound, concentrating harder.
------------------------------------------------
Astrid frowned as she walked down the hallway. Her frown was odd, as her eyebrows did not furrow, but they moved down and away from one another, therefore not contorting her face into that of anger—only concern. Her ears also moved back slightly, her deaf right her making her slightly weary. Her lips tightened and she gripped her lightsaber tighter as she realized the feeling that was heading towards her.
The Dark Side . . . it’s dark powers flowed around her like demons tempting her towards more power. However, there was something strange within it that made it easy to counteract. Something Astrid had never met before—hesitancy.
The sound of a lightsaber igniting behind her caused her to spin quick and face her attacker.
She was surprised to see the attacker was about her height, and that was just because of his or her boots. They couldn’t have weighed much more than she did and she was extremely light for her height and age.
He, she decided, had a curved hilt red lightsaber that caused his green eyes to flicker with more emotions than he probably wanted to express. But that was the thing about eyes—they told if a man was guilty or innocent.
Astrid studied his eyes for a moment before realizing there was no answer for the boy.
Silently and sadly, unwanting to harm a child not much bigger than herself, Astrid lifted her blade—ready to engage a battle.
Never make the first move. Astrid’s master’s voice whispered in her mind.

When Ari saw that her wound was healed, a smile spread across her face. She threw her arms around Trent's neck and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you so much!"
~~~~~~~
Jauché was certainly more afraid than he ever had been before in his entire life, as he stood in those moments of silence with the other Padawan. But he knew what his master had wanted, he knew what his master would say if he didn't engage in battle with this Padawan. He knew what he had to do, no matter how frightened or unwilling he was.
Lifting his lightsaber, Jauché leapt to the padawan's side and touched the wall with his boot, before flipping over the figure and landing on its other side. He swung his lightsaber through the air with a whooshing sound, straight at the Jedi's shoulder, though he was quickly countered. The other Padawan whirled around and they began their battle, the only sound coming from their lightsabers.
Trent smirked and hugged the girl back, giving a bit of a chuckle. “Heh-heh, no problem.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Astrid gave a grunt as she held her lightsaber firm, her opponent slamming his own weapon into hers. She spun away from him, her hair beads swinging into her face. Studying the boy she realized he looked terrified. But what confused her was why.
He was almost terrified—of winning.
Astrid’s thought process was cut short as he lunged at her again and she ducked under his weapon and rolled to the ground, swinging for his legs, a shot which he easily blocked. Springing to her feet, Astrid swung her blade, hitting his but then quickly wheeled it back and ducked, slamming her elbow into the boy’s chest.
In a moment of weakness, the boy stumbled backwards and his weapon lowered slightly—enough to get a clear shot of his neck.
Astrid lifted her lightsaber as time slowed down and began to swing towards the boy’s neck. However, then as she swung, her eyes met his and she saw such justification in his eyes—like she was proving something that he already knew—that she began to wonder about her actions.
At the last moment, Astrid noticeably changed the course of her blade and stumbled forward a few steps. The boy reacted and slammed a fist into her back, his lightsaber skimming her right ankle and causing her to cry out and scramble to get balance. She turned so that her back was towards the ground before she fell into a curved corner, walls trapping her from escape.
Her hood fell back as she hit the ground, her lightsaber rolling from her hand—out of reach. There was a sharp pain in her back that made it harder to breath and her ankle felt freezing and burning at the same time, a chunk of it obliterated by the boy’s weapon.
She propped herself up against the wall and stared up at the boy looming above her. Her hair, now fully visible, shimmered—the blue highlights almost glowing from the reflections of the beads in her hair. She met the boy’s eyes for a moment, too afraid to speak, but smart enough to know what was about to happen.
She was going to die.
Kaoru was always good at meditating, in fact, almost every second of his life was spent in meditation. In meditation about different things of course, like his life as a jedi, his future, his friends, his need to severe all attachments to those friends, how not to panic, how to beat things, how to find things, how to stop thinking so much!
Astrid, they needed to find Astrid. She disappeared within a moment's notice, so nothing bad could have happened, right? He shook his head and started to pace; a habit he had picked up from Sarahi. She was there, and then she wasn't. She was there, and then she wasn't. She was there then wasn't.
The eyes. All of the eyes were on him, waiting for him to do something. Someone else do something! He didn't ask for the pressure. Not all of the pressure. Kaoru stopped and took in a deep breath. No he had to keep it under control.
"She's here!" Sarahi yelled suddenly and felt along the wall. "She's behind here! I feel her presence here!"
Kaoru breathed a sigh of relief. Sarahi, always on her toes and keeping cool in every situation. If there were ever a time to love her, it would be now. Next to her, he was taller, but he always felt smaller in comparison. The only other person that made him feel that way was his master. Though it was different with Sarahi, and Master Narrous.
"A solid stone wall? Really?" Cla'Tal opened his stupid mouth again.
"Solid stone wall my---" Sarahi finished the line with a Mandalorian swear. The room echoed with the low rumble of the Force. Sarahi's hands came up from her sides and her fingers were curled as she brought them up in front of her. She took several steps back and then let out a yell. The hallway's door came tumbling down toward her...alone with a large section of the wall. She brushed a pebbled off her shoulder.
Kaoru's lightsaber ignited when he saw a red beam glowing in the dust.
"So, want to give me private Force lessons sometimes?" Cla'Tal tried to sound witty but he coughed when he inhaled too much dust. "You know, teach me how to tear down walls and stuff like that?"
"Tearing down walls is nothing." Sarahi spun her own lightsaber blades. "And killing Sith isn't much of a problem either."
"What's your count for Sith heads?" Cla'Tal asked, knowing the answer just like everyone else.
"One and a half," she glowered at him, "the second one got away with just the loss of half his face."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know if I should have one of my characters rescue Astrid or if someone else wanted to do it, or if it is wasn't really necessary for Sarahi to tear down the wall. Let me know and I will change my post accordingly. (PM me or post on the Random thread).
Finn's eyes narrowed when he saw the Trent guy hugging Arienna. In two strides, Finn was standing beside them and he grabbed Trent's hood, lifting him up and away from Ari, who let out a squeak of surprise.
Finn glared at Trent as he dropped him on the ground. "Stay away from her," he seethed.
~~~~
Jauché tried to stumble backwards in fear when the other Padawan swung his lightsaber at Jauché's neck, though he found himself paralyzed. He realized it had been wrong of him to take on any of the Jedi padawans at all, even this small one was a better fighter than he. So much better, in fact, that Jauché realized he was going to be killed.
Jauché's eyes met his opponents and they stared at each other for a moment. He was going to be killed by a Jedi. . . just like his family. This was why he had joined the 'dark side'-- because the light side was polluted. Jedi all thought of themselves as pure and stainless, though they were all black inside. None of them had mercy and none of them had a conscience.
That is, until the Padawan deliberately changed course with their lightsaber and stumbled backwards a few steps.
Had she done it on purpose? No, she couldn't have. She must have missed.
Jauché sieved the moment and sprung forward, slamming his fist onto his opponent's back. He swung his lightsaber forward to push him into a corner, and he knew the red blade had made contact with his ankle when he smelled burning flesh and the Jedi released a cry of pain. The Padawan fell backwards and into a corner, so that he was trapped. Also,though, his hood fell from his head and unveiled his face, making Jauché release a small gasp.
The other Padawan wasn't a 'he' at all. It was a girl. A Mirialan. She looked scared as the realization of her immenant death came upon her and she stared up at Jauché with large, green eyes.
Jauché stared back down at her. He held her gaze for quite some time, not knowing what to do. He had never actually killed a living being before. And how could he kill this girl who looked younger than he was? She looked scared, too. Scared and silent with those dazzling green eyes that made him wonder if he was wrong to assume she had no mercy or compassion. Had he been wrong about her? What if she really had spared his life?
No, he couldn't afford to think like that! He needed to think about his master, his mission! He needed to do this!
. . . but why? Jauché found himself deeply questioning the motives of his master. He only wanted to be fair. He didn't want to be a murderer. And killing a weapon less, young girl who had purposefully spared his life was wrong. He couldn't do it.
He couldn't kill her.
Jauché held her gaze a moment longer before extinguishing his lightsaber and disappearing down the corridor, into the blackness. He had failed his mission-- but what if he had failed even greater by excepting it in the first place?
(Sorry, I was on vacation. And Sarahi, I had him disappear before you saw him-- cuz I don't want everyone chasing him. You can still knock down the wall, I just want him to be gone. Everyone should, like, rush in there to make sure Astrid is okay. He did hurt her ankle.)

Astrid stared into the boy’s eyes as she saw a massive hesitation in him. Was he just mocking her weakness? Prolonging her death? No . . . it wasn’t taking so long because the boy was enjoying himself, she could tell that much by his face.
She took small, soft breaths, not wanting to do anything that might upset the boy into killing her. She was weaponless and this seemed to perplex the boy even more.
Why didn’t he strike her down? It was so easy! Perhaps . . . too easy?
The silence was beautiful, but at the same time, intense. Neither spoke a word, but in a way—their eyes spoke millions of things all at once.
He held her gaze a moment longer before decision struck in his eyes—and he extinguished his lightsaber, going against everything he had been sent to do. Astrid was too shocked for words, but no words were necessary because the boy was running away. Part of her mind said to grab her weapon and run after him—but the other part . . . her heart told her to stay where she was and let him live—just like he had let her live because she had granted him mercy.
The wall behind her shook, causing Astrid to jump and cover her head as the wall then came crashing down to reveal her fellow jedi. She didn’t get up to greet them and her eyes remained on the now empty hallway.
A dark jedi—had given mercy. But why? Just because she had? That didn’t make any sense. What was the boy’s name? Who was he? Questions filled Astrid’s mind, making her almost oblivious to the group that was bound to see her right after the dust cleared.

Kaoru rushed forward and stop a few feet into the hallway, just passed where Astrid was at. He scanned the darkness looking for a red blade, a gleam of those yellow Sith eyes; there was nothing but darkness. He used the Force to extend his mind's eye further, but the presence of the Dark Side was shrinking further away. The Dark Side seemed to grow stronger for just a moment, but then it faded almost completely.
Kaoru didn't take his eyes from the dark hallway. Every ounce of him wanted to race after his fellow padawan's attacker, but he was a leader. Not to mention the fact that he hadn't actually faced the Sith kind before. He knew, out of the group, that Sarahi had faced a Sith, but it was by pure chance she had escaped alive. She had even admitted it to him. If they were up against a Master, they would have no chance of survival if they went after him. But... If Astrid had been fighting a Master, she would probably be dead. No, she faced an apprentice, if anything. With all of them, they could beat an apprentice. He walked back to Astrid and knelt down next to her. "Can you stand?"
"This is getting too serious for a training exercise." Cla'Tal said.
"Cla'Tal..." Sarahi's voice rang with a warning.
"What?"
"Shut up." She replied.
"Yes Master Qui." Cla'Tal smirked, and Sarahi refused to reply to that remark.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Kahle had been scared of the dark when he was younger. So long ago, it had to be more than a decade, probably nearly close to a decade and a half. Now though, now he embraced the darkness. He could walk confidently through the labyrinth of hallways and rooms in the Sith Temple. Next to him, Torep tensed and then relaxed. The stupid tail-head was always on edge, jumping at every wave in the Dark Force. He didn't quite have the experience that Kahle had, but it was more than that other guys...
"It's the idiot." Torep said under his breath. Every group had to have an idiot; it was the universe's curse to all the competent people that lived.
"Jauché," Kahle smirked, "Where have you been? The Master was wondering where you went." He didn't wait for a reply. "I know who we need to take out in order to make this group of jedi crumble." He held up three fingers. "The leader, obviously. Then the other two are girls. The frail human and then that other one with the purple lightsaber. Simple enough. The group will scatter, and we may even get one of them turn to our side. The odds are in our favor if we play this out right. What say you?"

Astrid watched in confusion as the boy disappeared, Kaoru was suddenly in front of her with a lightsaber, but it didn’t register.
“He let me live,” Astrid whispered, inaudibly. “Why did you let me live?”
“Can you stand?”
Astrid gave a small gasp, shaken from her thoughts as she spun to see Kaoru, kneeling next to her. She felt strange not having her hood on when in the company of others--everyone. It made her feel exposed and unprotected. But then she realized that wasn’t entirely true. The dark jedi boy . . . she hadn’t even thought of her hood.
It was just because you were scared. No other reason is logical. Astrid thought to herself.
She frowned and looked to Kaoru again. “Is he gone?” It was a stupid question, considering she had watched him leave. But she was so confused, it was the only thing that slipped from her mouth with a sense of hope. In a sort of way—she wanted to let the boy go.
She wanted to let the boy live.
It was then Kaoru’s question registered in her mind and she looked down, studying her boot, which (along with her ankle) had a large chunk burned out of it.
Don’t be weak. Astrid thought to herself.
She carefully placed her feet under herself and shakily got to her feet, putting most the weight on her other foot. Looking back up to Kaoru, she gave a small nod. “I will be fine.”
Fine. It was such a variable term. What did it even mean? It meant she would live; she was physically able over all. But it said nothing about her emotional disposition—the fact that she was feeling extremely conflicted.
Why would a dark jedi let me live? Is it even possible . . . innocence?
Seeing the questioning stare of Kaoru, Astrid looked to the ground, speaking in a soft voice that you’d have to try to hear. “It was a padawan—for a Sith, I believe.” She decided to keep it to herself that she could’ve killed the boy. Kaoru had a look in his eyes like he wanted to see the boy dead—now. Which made Astrid confusedly—upset.

“Is he gone?” Astrid spoke, shocking Kaoru out of his silence. Was this the first time he had heard her speak? It didn't matter. The he she was talking about was probably the Sith apprentice. Was he so terrifying that it was like a nightmare you just wanted to end, that you had to make sure it ended. “I will be fine.” She stood. She was hurt, but strong enough to move on. Maybe Trent could....not Trent had already done enough, expending his energy further could put his life in danger.
"Fine is a matter of opinion." He said, studying her injury. "Let me see what I can do." Kaoru, by no means, would ever become a Jedi Healer, but he knew the basics of healing. He moved his hands around her ankle so they were an inch away, and then focused the Force onto that area. It would heal the wound enough to where she could walk on it, to be sure. However, the body had to naturally heal itself on its own. If you depended on the Force entirely, then you could actually end up hurting yourself more in the future. Not that the Force was a bad thing. Unless it was used for evil. The Dark Sider that had done this, he needed to know that it wasn't a good idea to mess with him and his fellow padawans. He didn't think he'd have any mercy for the Sith. And Sarahi, would definately show none. He looked up at Astrid.
That look on her face. He had seen that look before. But, where? Where had Kaoru seen that look? It wasn't like it was directed at him; it was directed at the floor. But, he had seen the same expression once, maybe twice, before. He wracked his brain for an answer.
Sarahi. She had that same look, once before. He had been angry about something. He couldn't remember what about though. It was that look that suck with him. That made him change his mind...about...something.
It didn't matter. Nothing mattered except for getting out of the temple alive. He stood up, after finishing with Astrid's wound. "We need ideas, because to be honest, I have no idea what to do at this point." Kaoru withheld a sigh.
"Sarahi could tear down the temple. You know, a little more Force whacka-pow and we are home free." Cla'Tal suggested.
"Yeah, I'll bring the whole temple down...on our heads." Sarahi clipped her lightsabers onto her belt. "There's no way I could ever do that. If you haven't noticed, I'm not a full-fledged Jedi, or even a Master. You would need multiple Masters to bring down this temple, and I'm just a padawan with anger issues."
"Hey, at least you're willing to admit it." Cla'Tal shrugged. Kaoru couldn't help but feel that comment was directed at him, but he would ignore it, for now.
"Any other bright ideas?" Sarahi crossed her arms.

"Fine is a matter of opinion." Kaoru said, studying her injury. "Let me see what I can do."
Astrid bit the inside of her lip as Kaoru’s hands hovered over her ankle. She felt like telling him to stop—to get away. She knew she was the youngest—she knew she was the one they didn’t know what to do with. She didn’t want to be the weakest. But she had said too much already.
Her ankle tickled and tingled as Kaoru helped it a bit. However, it was only moments later she realized that Kaoru was staring at her. Feeling very unprotected from the padawan’s prying mind, Astrid glued her eyes to the ground and hoped that he would not pry far.
“Any other bright ideas?” Sarahi asked with annoyance.
Astrid stayed silent, hoping that the idea would be to continue down this hallway and forget the Sith apprentice even existed. However, then Trent stepped forward.
“I have one!” Trent proclaimed.
Kendalia rolled her eyes and smirked. “Of course, you do.”
“Of course, I do!” Trent said with a smile. ”Why don’t we track down that sith guy that picked on the pretty little green girl there?”
Astrid could almost see the ground burning from the weight of her eyes as she stood with her back to the ground, only able to see Kaoru.
“Shut up,” Kendalia grumbled, “but that is a good idea, searching for that guy. Should we split into groups? I say we split up into groups of two or something and if we find him, we blast him to oblivion.”
Astrid inwardly winced when bittersweet blood pooled below her tongue because she had bitten down hard on her cheek. No . . . we must not go after him. If anyone should . . . it should be . . . me.
“If it even is a guy,” Trent said, shoving Kendalia. “You’re judgmental.”
“And you’re an idiot.”
Trent shrugged. “Only because you judge me to be so. But because I am a person open to the thoughts and opinions of others, I accept the fact you think I’m an idiot. And I embrace it. Now, either way, he or she is up to no good. And I agree with Kendalia, let’s go find her.”
“Oh, now it’s a girl?”
“Since when did you care about female people?” Trent asked. He was about to continue, but stopped when he heard Astrid’s soft voice.
“It was a boy. Human . . . young.” Astrid whispered, keeping her back to the others.
Kendalia rolled her eyes. “Great! So it was a gu—”
“What should we do, boss?” Trent interrupted, looking to Kaoru.

Kaoru nodded. "Following him might be a good idea, but I think that we should hold off on any plans to kill him."
"What do you mean by that!?" Sarahi hissed. "He's a Sith; nothing good can come from trusting a Sith. After all, this is a Sith temple which means there is bound to be more than one Dark Sider here. If we follow him and somehow manage to subdue him, who says he won't lead us into a trap where we are picked off one-by-one?"
Kaoru clenched his jaw, she was right, but then again, she was wrong too. Sarahi's judgement on this matter was personal, not that he blamed her for it. "It is better than taking our chances on our own. Who knows what the next trap will be and when it will be sprung. Everything is going to get harder from here on out; it would be easier and safer if we had a guide; someone who knows the temple and all of its exit points."
"I don't like it." Cla'Tal said. "Say if your plan works out and we get out safely, what do we do with the Sith?"
"K---"
"We let our masters decide that." Kaoru cut Sarahi off before she could say anything. She gave him a sharp look, but said nothing.
"Well, all in favor of chasing the Dark Sider, say I." Cla'Tal grinned.
"What about splitting up into groups?" Sarahi asked.
"I wouldn't split up unless I had to." Kaoru replied. "We are stronger as a group and we need to stick together. We all have different skills which makes up for the lack of having a master. We stick together. Does anyone have any objections or other ideas?"
"Nope, just say the word and I'll start walking." Cla'Tal said while stretching his arms. Finally, the idiot had said something useful.
