“We all have different skills which makes up for the lack of having a master. We stick together. Does anyone have any objections or other ideas?"
“So . . . wait,” Trent said, shaking his head, “you want to kidnap this guy and make him get us out?”
Kendalia shook her head. “That’s crazy.”
Trent grinned. “I like it. So we keep him hostage and make him get us out of here.”
Astrid kept where she was, dread making her stomach churn. She had to see the boy again? Then what? What would he think of her? She had let him live and he had let her live. Would he regret that? If not, he certainly would disdain her and the other jedi if they kept him prisoner. Especially since the others wanted him dead.
As should you, Astrid thought to herself, he is an enemy of the Jedi. He is a dark-sider! You have some sick, strange attachment to him that must cease to exist. What happened was nothing special. He hesitated and probably got scared. He did not grant you mercy because the Dark Side knows no mercy.

Jauché ran as fast as he could, away from the Jedi girl. The way she had looked at him-- that look in her eyes. . . for some reason it would not leave him. You should have finished her off! In fact, you should turn back and kill her. Quickly. You don't have to look her in the eyes-- just remember what the Jedi did to you, and do it. Kill her. It would make the Master proud! You could finally get revenge!
But no, Jauché didn't want to extract his revenge on that helpless girl. She had been just as scared as he was. She had been terrified-- terrified of him. She hadn't hurt him. She was different than the other Jedi. All the other Jedi wanted to hurt him. . . but she didn't. He had felt her determination dissipate as she fought him and turn into hesitation. Just like him.
Just like me.
But Jauché realized he shouldn't be thinking that way. His Master had warned him of the trickery of Jedi. Their false innocence and fake mercy. They were truly ruthless and cold, heartless and bloodthirsty. Jauché knew first-hand what a real Jedi was like-- he had experienced it. Because of the Jedi, I am all alone now. My Master is all I have, and I know what I must do for him. He wants the padawans dead. . .
However, Jauché found his lip trembling at the thought of having to face the girl Padawan again, having to see that frightened look in her eyes. He didn't want to meet her again. He wanted her to get out of this place. Yes, secretly, he wanted her to escape and to live. He wanted her to live.
Suddenly, Jauché let out a small yelp when he turned a corner and nearly ran into two looming figures. They were much taller than him, and he didn't have to see them in the dark to know who they were. Kahle and Torep. Jauché gulped and took a step back.
"Jauché," Kahle smirked, "Where have you been? The Master was wondering where you went." The older apprentice did not wait for Jauché to explain himself. "I know who we need to take out in order to make this group of jedi crumble." He held up three fingers. "The leader, obviously. Then the other two are girls. The frail human and then that other one with the purple lightsaber. Simple enough. The group will scatter, and we may even get one of them to turn to our side. The odds are in our favor if we play this out right. What say you?"
Jauché stared up at the dark figures, looking between them. Kahle had always been the one in charge, so Jauché focused on him. He heaved a deep breath from all the running he had just done and stuttered out a reply. "Well, uh, actually," his voice was small compared to the deep, ominous power of the Dark Side around him. "I don't think that's the best idea. . ."
Torep let out a snort of laughter. "And why not?"
"Well. . ." Jauché's gaze shifted to the floor. How was he supposed to come up with an idea for them not to hurt the girl, without them realizing? He didn't want any of the other padawans killed, either. He wanted them to understand that the Sith and the True Side of the Force were the ones with the power to do good. The Jedi were too selfish-- they could never help people the way Sith had the power to. "I think, maybe, we should just--"
"Oh, why were you even asking him?" Torep shot Jauché a glare, though he was talking to Kahle. "He never has a good idea or an opinion worth anything."
Jauché felt himself shrink back a little, before realizing that the only way to protect the girl-- to make sure she got out of this cursed dark temple, would be to keep her alive himself. He may just have to let some of the others fall, he couldn't save all of them. But he could save the Mirialan girl. Why do I care?! Why is it so important that she lives all of a sudden? My Master would not be pleased. . .
"Alright," Jauché answered softly. "That's. . . that's a good idea."
~~~
"The Sith Padawan is not alone," Finn stated. "I sense more than one presence of the dark side in this place. All the more reason to hunt them down-- we have the skill to destroy them. We should continue on our path--"
"But we don't know where we're going!" Arienna cried softly.
"Yes," Finn nodded. "We should start down this hallway. If this is the way the Padawan ran, then he must be running towards something. We should follow him. That would compromise everyone's ideas-- wouldn't it?"
"Yes," Finn nodded. "We should start down this hallway. If this is the way the Padawan ran, then he must be running towards something. We should follow him. That would compromise everyone's ideas-- wouldn't it?"
“Follow the creepy dark hallway?” Trent said before grinning. “Sounds good.” Swinging his arm around Kendalia, he marched forward, pulling Astrid towards him with his other arm as he continued down the hall.
Astrid stumbled, running into Trent with surprise as he continued with her in an awkward side-hug. She struggled for a moment to break free and finally did, looking to the ground and pulling her hood over her face, gluing her eyes to the ground and then hugging herself. She did not like Trent Kuuno. At all. So she continued down the hall by herself—surprisingly in front of the group.
Just in case . . . we see him again. I will be able to protect them from him and him from them.
Kaoru decided that he really didn't like Finn. There was something...off. He hadn't liked Finn before, just because he was unsure about the guy, but know he was sure. The arrogant, wannabe-jedi master was too quick to want to destroy. A Sith or not, it was a being with life. If you could get on fine without taking a life, then that was good. As much as destroying the Sith would be great, there would always be someone else to take the place of the one who had fallen. There would always be Sith in the galaxy, that Kaoru knew.
Finn lead the way. Had he stopped to think that this whole thing was a trap and they were all going to end up dead because somehow they were going to get separated. At least, since he wasn't leading this round, he couldn't be the one to blame. He hadn't even been able to object before everyone started following the padawan down the dark, creepy hallway. Kaoru fell in behind Sarahi, bring up the tail end of the group.
She kept her face forward, focused on what was ahead. Occasionally she would ball her hand into a fist and then wriggle her fingers to make sure she was ready to throw a punch at a moment's notice. Kaoru knew she would have little regard for a Sith's life, and would actually take pleasure in ending their life, if she had the chance. He couldn't blame her though. Sarahi, though she would never admit it in person, suffered more from what the Sith did to her than they could ever know.
"So, how are you doing so far?" Kaoru had never been good at starting conversations, but Sarahi was one of the easiest people he could talk with. When he thought about it, this was the first time he had been able to talk (more like whisper) casually like this since the "training" had started.
"I'll be better when we get out of here." She muttered. "I know jedi aren't supposed to hate anything, but I hate this place."
"I think they could make an exception for hate. This place is pretty terrible." Kaoru tried to bring a smile to his lips. It was a wasted attempt on anyone else, but Sarahi understood every little thing that he did.
"Terrible. Wretched. Dark. Evil. Sickening. Horrifying. Anyone could work. I just hate the feeling of being surrounded by stone walls and not being able to escape from the crushing sensation of this Dark Force in this temple. I was almost half tempted to tear down the temple. I think that I'd rather be crushed by millions of tons of rock than the Dark Force." She shrugged. "I just hope we get out of here alive. I swear I won't complain about my master anymore," Sarahi paused, "Only if he doesn't deserve it."
"Hah." Kaoru nodded. "I'm sure he would appreciate that."
Sarahi's face scrunched together in a gleeful smile. Her face, though scarred by the blade of a lightsaber that was held too close to her skin, was still beautiful in his eyes. Her darker skin tone helped hide the face that she had been burned. No, what made her face beautiful were her eyes. Though her left eye had been damaged and turned grey, her right eye had remained its original intense, green color. One eye was enough to pierce a soul, so he had a hard time fathoming what would have happened had he been able to gave into both green eyes. Though Kaoru had memorized every feature of her face, her eyes always took his breath away. Every feature complimented her looks. Every freckle. The slight upward tilt at the end of her nose. And, her lips. They reminded him of the pink hue of the sky when the sun was rising.
Cla'Tal had always tried to win Sarahi to his side, to make her fall in love with him, but she was too strong for that. She wouldn't fall in love with anything or anyone. She could care deeply, but Sarahi refused to love. "Too much heart break when the thing you love passes out of your life forever." She had once told him. Cla'Tal, in defeat, had come to him in utter despair that Sarahi would reject him until the end of time. Then he had went on to describe everything he had loved about her. To Kaoru, who shared no interest in Sarahi at the time, what Cla'Tal had to say was nothing. And then, Kaoru started to pay attention to her.
At first, he watched the way that she fought. Then, how she meditated. To watching every smooth and graceful move that she made. Kaoru listened to her voice, finding himself entranced by the way she talked. Her words would sometimes mean nothing, and then there were these moments of wisdom that came from somewhere within her. He watched her one eye do the work of two as she drank in every detail. He picked up on little habits, like how she wrinkled her nose when she was thinking hard. How she pursed her lips when she thought. The thought had come one day, so suddenly that he almost choked. And, Cla'Tal had said it long before Kaoru would ever have the chance to think about. "Sarahi is the type of girl you would want your first and last kiss to be with. It would be a risk, not to mention dangerous, but if she returned it, you would know that she shared the same exact feelings for you as you have for her."
But, that was forbidden. Attachments were forbidden. Love normally meant attachments, and Sarahi had avoided well enough. Friendships were attachments too, and that is why they both traded careful ground, never over-stepping the boundaries of the jedi code. Never. Not once. And, they were both fine with that.
Finally, they reached the end of the hallway and into another room. "Great," Cla'Tal said, "Another room with another hidden hallway."
"No...no hallway...." Sarahi shook her head.
"What do you mean no hall---" Cla'Tal stopped mid-sentence when the ground beneath them started to shake. Everyone, caught off guard by the movements fought to maintain their balance. It wouldn't help though, for with a few moments, the ground gave way beneath their feet. There were several yells of terror as everyone fell.
Kaoru felt himself slip down a rocky slide, and when he tried to find something to hold onto he was at a loss. The stone fell out from beneath him. Just before he hit the ground and nearly broke every bone in his body, Kaoru used the Force to cushion his fall. When he landed, he found that he wasn't alone, but also that they amount of people he was with had been cut down to only a third of the group, including himself. They had been separated. This wasn't good.
Astrid gasped as the floor disappeared and she was sent tumbling down some sort of rocky slide. When she was air borne again, she outreached her hands with the force and caught her fall, landing lightly on her feet. However, she wavered in balance for a moment because of her still injured ankle. Thanks to Kauro, though, she stayed standing.
Looking up, Astrid was relieved to see she was not alone and Kauro was with her.
She looked to him, silently, hoping he would say something about what had just happened.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trent laughed as the rocks he slid down tickled, running across his back and was so distracted by them, he didn’t have time to break his fall. So instead, he fell with a thud, groaning but then laughing.
“Ouch!” he laughed before pulling himself to his feet and studied the two remaining he was with. “Oh, come on! Out of everyone, I got stuck with the stone-faced padawans? Seriously?”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kendalia broke her fall but still landed on her back with a thud. A cough escaped her, but she quickly jumped to her feet and ignited her lightsaber. “What the heck just happened!?” she demanded.
Kaoru brushed the rumble off of his tunic and picked a few slivers of stone out of his palm. He looked up and squinted, the drop had been far; several stories in fact. He felt a pair of eyes fall on him, and instinctively he threw his hood over his head. "I think the floor collapsed beneath our feet." He said quietly.
Sarahi rubbed the back of her head. She had smacked her head on one of the floor's stones on the way down, but it didn't hurt. It was numb. Any thing that should hurt never did, not since...
“Oh, come on! Out of everyone, I got stuck with the stone-faced padawans? Seriously?” Trent. The Force hated her. Sarahi was sure of it.
She pulled her ponytail tight and shook her hair. "Seriously." She replied. "Deal with it."
“What the heck just happened!?” Cla'Tal recognized Kendalia voice.
"I could be wrong, but I think the floor decided the lot of us was too heavy to hold. " He grinned.
"I think the floor collapsed beneath our feet."
The comment almost made Astrid smile. It was so dry, so blatantly true, that it was something Aspen would have said. But she didn’t smile because it was something she would have said.
With a small nod, Astrid also slipped on her hood. She wasn’t sure if it was out of habit or because Kauro had done it.
”Why do you copy everything I do, Ace?” Aspen asked her with a small smile.
Astrid grinned. “Because! Then I learn! You’re my big brother, I’m supposed to mimic you. That’s how I learn!”
Astrid looked down at the ground, trying to convince herself that Kaoru wasn’t like Aspen. But the hard fact was—he was like Aspen. And she wasn’t sure if that was good. On the one hand, it made her glad she was with him because that meant he was trustable. But on the other hand, she wasn’t sure how Kaoru would like having her around him. He might just reject her about as far as he could—and from experience, she knew that hurt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trent raised his hands in surrender. “Hey,” he said in an upbeat way, “you’re pretty, so I’m totally cool with it.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seeing there was no immediate danger, Kendalia exstinguished her lightsaber and crossed her arms, smiling and rolling her eyes at Cla’Tal.
“Are you calling me fat, Smiley?” she asked with a smirk.
The honest thing was, she liked Cla’Tal. He was like Trent and though Trent could drive you to insanity with his constant “Are we there yet”s and “I’m hungry”s, overall, he was awesome. He had a sense of humor and that, Kendalia realized through Trent, was good in a bad situation sometimes.
(Oh, Trent. >.< He's kind of asking for it. Sorry.)
Astrid was silent, like always. Kaoru sighed, a smile (though it looked like a grimace) touched the corners of his mouth. "You don't talk much, do you?" he shook his head, "I don't blame you though. I've found that there aren't very many people who want to listen. And then, when you do find someone to listen, you never know what to say." Sarahi's image popped into his head. He hoped she was okay. He hoped..."I hope that everyone else is okay." He checked his comlink. It didn't work, as usual. He hated being a leader.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Trent raised his hands. “Hey,” he said in an upbeat way that made Sarahi want to shut his face up, “you’re pretty, so I’m totally cool with it.”
She clenched her fists. Pretty? How could anyone think she was pretty? She was the opposite of pretty. She bore the mark of someone who had engaged in a fight and lost. But, she was a Mandalorian. She was a warrior. And, there was only one thing pretty about a warrior. Sarahi smashed her fist against Trent's jaw. "The only thing pretty about me is my right hook."
-------------------------------------------------------
“Are you calling me fat, Smiley?” Kendalia asked with a smirk. Cla'Tal thought for a moment. Smiley was probably his first positive nickname from anyone.
"No, I was merely suggesting that there is one person in this group that weighs more than he should. Maybe two. Inflated egos make a person all the more fat." Cla'Tal suddenly wished Kaoru could have heard that. "But, hey, what matters is the fact that not everyone else is here. Accident? I think not."
"You don't talk much, do you?" Kauro asked. “I don't blame you though. I've found that there aren't very many people who want to listen. And then, when you do find someone to listen, you never know what to say."
Astrid looked down, knowing exactly what the boy was saying. Even though she knew he was speaking of the girl he cared for, Sarahi. She didn’t have to be strong with the Force to notice his glancing at the girl every minute to make sure she was okay.
“I hope that everyone else is okay."
Astrid nodded slightly. She could feel them, their presences.
She wanted to ask Kauro what they were going to do, but instead she kept silent. Obviously, when he thought of it, they would do it. She knew he was pressured already, but now having her with him didn’t help. Things would be a lot easier on him if she wasn’t there.
So she stayed silent and hoped that Kauro would speak.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarahi was right. Her right hook was 'pretty' alright. Pretty strong. And pretty stinking hard.
But Trent had always been one to . . . roll with the punch, so to speak. So he spun around from the impact and reached up to make sure his jaw wasn’t broken.
Laughing, Trent winced. “Ow,” he laughed, “that feels really weird. Like, it hurts super bad but it tickles too. Ow, ha-ha. I guess that’s what a guy gets for being nice, huh.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"But, hey, what matters is the fact that not everyone else is here. Accident? I think not."
Kendalia nodded and thought for a moment. “Well, my guess is as good as yours, maybe a little better. But something tells me something or someone will be coming to check on us. What’s your say, Smiley?”
(Kendalia totally has a new nickname for Cla'Tal. Finally, someone's nice to the poor guy, ha-ha)
Finn growled and got to his feet, dusting himself off. He was slightly separated from the others, but he heard voices and he soon reached them. Immediately when he found the two padawans he had been trapped with-- he rolled his eyes. The last two people he had wanted to get stuck in a rock-solid room with-- the idiot and the hothead.
Finn pushed his way between them and gave them both a glare. "How about you stop your little fistfight and help me find a way out of this." It wasn't phrased as a question. "I'm in charge now, understand?"
~~~~
Arienna rubbed her forehead, where she had been hit by a rock and pulled herself to her feet, stumbling forward. She heard voices, which made her lift her head in hopes that someone else was in this scary place.
Two other padawans-- Kendalia and Cla'tal-- were trapped in this room
"Oh thank goodness!" she squeaked. "I thought I was all alone." She looked between the two of them. "So, uh, are we just stuck down here til Finn finds us?"
-------------- Hey guys, I had an interesting thought. So, what if Kaoru was able to capture Jauché and once everyone was reunited (maybe Arienna should be dead by this time, that would make things more intense) Sarahi took 'getting information about how to get out' into her own hands? Finn could help. . . and they could really hurt Jauché or whatever. But then maybe Astrid could stop them? What do you think?

Trent raised his eyebrow when Finn shoved Sarahi and Trent apart. He didn't like the way Finn just pushed around. Even with Sarahi. Sarahi may have acted like a guy at times, but she was still a girl. And Trent thought girls ought to be respected with personal space . . . unless you were sneak attacking them with hugs. But Finn wasn't sneak attacking Sarahi with a hug unless his hugs were really pitiful, so that meant he was disrespecting Sarahi.
Sure she had just slugged him on the jaw. But Trent didn't care. Girls always did that.
"I'm in charge now, understand?"
Trent frowned. "Actually, no, I'm not entirely sure if I do understand. You see, I was under the idea that if someone were actually in charge, we wouldn't all be secretly a bit freaked out. So, how about we don't be "in charge" and how about we all brainstorm together on how to get out of here. Sound good? Oh, and by the way, don't push girls around. It's not nice."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kendalia rolled her eyes. "Oh good, the mouse is with us." Turning around to see Arienna, Kendalia placed a hand on her hip. "How do you know your precious Finn isn't dead, Princess? Cause let me tell you, sister--we're on our own, getting out of here. So I suggest you give up waiting for someone to rescue you--or you're going to be dead."
(I like that idea . . .)

"How about you stop your little fistfight and help me find a way out of this." Finn ignited a whole new rage monster in Sarahi. "I'm in charge now, understand?"
Trent frowned, probably for the first time after this ordeal started. It's not nice." He may be a blonde, pretty-boy, but at least Trent had brains.
"Yeah, my right eye you're in charge!" Sarahi stuck her hands on her hips and glared right back at Finn. "Last I checked, it wasn't padawan Tarkerre who lead us into a room with a floor that was going to collapse beneath out feet." She paused. "Oh, and next time you touch me, Finn, I'll break your arms."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh good, the mouse is with us." Kendalia placed a hand on her hip after turning toward Arienna. "How do you know your precious Finn isn't dead, Princess?" The emphases on dead was a little harsh, but true nonetheless. "Cause let me tell you, sister--we're on our own, getting out of here. So I suggest you give up waiting for someone to rescue you--or you're going to be dead."
"Mice are cute." Cla'Tal shrugged, but Kendalia was right. "I have to agree; we can't wait around for everyone else. For all we know, there could be a Sith ready to strike at any moment. Two even. Working together is our only way out." He thought for a moment before adding, "Princesses are cute too."
Sorry for the late post; college is keeping me extra busy! I'm fine with that. I realized that Arienna and Kendalia are in the same room, which means two sith apprentices are coming after their instead of one. This also better the chance of one of them dying (Arienna I assume). Finn, Sarahi, and Trent will not encounter a sith apprentice because of this. That's fine, they can work on getting out and to the last two rooms that we will go through to get to the "final boss". Heehee.
Stella, sounds like a plan to me.
Silence remained with Kauro and Astrid as Kauro seemed to be in some sort of meditation. As Astrid studied him beneath her cloak, she began to see it: lines on his forehead, creased from anger, frown lines, and most of all—pained eyes. Astrid took in other facts about him too before coming to a conclusion.
“I’m sorry that your first master was killed,” Astrid whispered.
Suddenly, the silence turned cold and Astrid wished she hadn’t spoken. She didn’t want to make Kauro upset, she genuinely just wanted to let him know that despite the cold demeanor of the Jedi Order—someone cared.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, and next time you touch me, Finn, I'll break your arms."
Trent grinned at Sarahi’s comment, but chose to leave her alone. He had just gripped the tip of trust with her and he wasn’t about to be stupid and break it. Well, stupider.
“So, let’s get going!” Trent said, marching straight into a wall because of the dimness in the room. After a moment of silence, he spun around and raised a finger as if he had found a discovery. “There’s a wall there. Let’s find an exit!”
----------------------------------------------------------
"Princesses are cute too."
“From my experience, a princess is nothing more than a pretty face,” Kendalia stated. “But come on, we got to find a way out of here, or they’re going to eat us alive.”
Eat? Great, Kendalia, now I’m hungry!
Kendalia almost missed that voice. Trent’s voice. That’s what he would have said after such a comment. But then she realized Trent’s long lost twin was standing right behind her and so to make sure he didn’t say anything, she spun back around. “And if you make some comment about being hungry, I swear I will drive my lightsaber through my own chest. Come on, Smiley, Princess, we got to go.”
(Sounds awesome. Do we get to send Sith apprentices in soon?! I'm excited, he-he).
“I’m sorry that your first master was killed,” Astrid whispered. Kaoru looked at her in surprise. He almost hadn't heard her...almost. Master Shivek... Why did she bring him up? It had been a while since he had thought of his first master. Forgetting was easier than remembering. He didn't think about such things. He forced a smile (though, again, it didn't look like one), "My master was---" He stopped, suddenly feeling an unwanted presence. He pulled out and ignited his lightsaber. "Someone is here..." _____________________________________________ (Just waiting for you to catch up Stella, then I'll bring on the Sith Apprentices.
Finn let out a low growl in Trent's direction. The guy was a moron. And that was more than what he had to say about Sarahi. It was obvious that neither of them truly cared about becoming a Jedi Knight-- they were both so childish.
It disgusted him.
"There's a wall there," Trent said at the stone, before turning. "Let's find an exit!"
"You're just genius, aren't you," Finn said with a role of his eyes. "How about we make our own exit?" With a sharp intake of breath, Finn thrust his hands forward, palms up, and pushed his energy and strength into the air. His power was demonstrated as one of the walls in the room cracked and a small portion crumbled-- forming a door shape.
"Let's go," Finn commanded, obviously not having learned the lesson that Trent and Sarahi wouldn't follow him. That almost made him more determined, however-- maybe they would stay here and get eaten by something or crushed under the rocks. With a shake of his head, Finn walked forward and hopped through the stone door, activating his white lightsaber for light in the dark tunnel he had opened.
----------
Arienna, trying not to be a little intimidated by Kendalia, knew she had to just let go of what Kendalia said about Finn being dead. He wasn't dead. He would come and save her like he always did and everything would be fine.
She kept telling herself that as she followed Kendalia.
Silence rested around them for a few moments before there was the soft sound of pebbles falling in the distance-- having been disturbed by something. Ari's eyes widened in fear and she leapt forward, grabbing Kendalia's arm. "What's that sound?" she asked with fear.
----------
Jauché held his breath as he made his way slowly along the rim of the stone wall, tiptoeing and cloaking himself with the force. He wanted to get away from this scene, maybe say he got lost, so that he wouldn't have to kill anyone at all. He didn't wish to harm them. But he couldn't save them all from the Master. Since the light side of the force was so near and so strong, however, Jauché didn't know if his master could defeat all of them. Was the Sith Lord really that strong? Or could the Jedi overpower him?
Jauché had no idea. He hoped he didn't have to find out-- maybe everyone could just part ways peacefully.
However-- the idea of simply running away from the fight was dashed when the stone began to quiver. Jauché held himself in blanance but then the stones began to shake violently for several moments-- sending the small boy tumbling off the rock wall. He caught himself with the force just as he hit the ground, several surprised. The tremors went away as quickly as they had come, however, and he found himself trapped in the very room he had wanted to avoid
Jauché rolled to his feet, thankful that his hood and cloak had stayed in place. He stood and realized just how close the Jedi were: two of them stood before him in this very room. One of them was very familiar, making him gulp and take a step back.
It was her. The little Miralian girl whom he had spared from death. He had already let her live once, could he do it again without getting himself killed? Could he force himself to kill her?
