A planet lost! The peaceful world of Nishr has been disturbed by Zygerrian slavers! With their king and queen dead, and their prince nowhere to be found, the Nish have been given into the hands of slavery. In response to a distress call, the Jedi Council has dispatched two Jedi to find the young prince, chase out the Zygerrian slavers, and restore balance to the once peaceful planet of Nishr.

Trinn looked around. The world was dull and lifeless, but not without the occasional glimmer of color and light. He counted added one to his list of Force sensitives that he had counted since he had woken up. Behind him, a body stirred from sleep. "You know Bird, I thought your name was a play off of you being an early riser, but you really love to sleep in, don't you?" He grinned while Bird rubbed his eyes and let out a long drawn out yawn.
"...I hate mornings...." Bird stood up and stretched, letting out another yawn. "....Anything new....?" He asked quietly.
"Naw, just a bunch of slaver idiots." Trinn waved a hand. "I've never seen a planet so gray. It's Force-less here, save for the occasional passerby that I see everyday."
"Oh." Bird yawned again.
"Stop yawning, you're making want to yawn." Trinn searched the docking platforms, but found nothing again.
"They say that the prince has been lost." Trinn perked up at the sound of gossip. Bird stiffened and then relaxed, before letting out yet another long, drawn-out yawn. "If that is the case, the Nishr is lost. The rebellion is too weak to fully take over and reestablish another government."
"There's always that other one..." The co-gossiper replied. "The half-royal prince who was banished from the castle."
"He hates the royals and no one knows where the boy went off to. He may be off-world for all we know." The gossiping stopped as a guard passed by. Once gone, the two gossipers continued talking, more quietly this time.
"I believe that the young prince is still alive. He wasn't executed with the king or queen so there is still some hope left for the people."
"Dream all you want. Hope all you want. The prince is dead."
"I believe you." Bird chimed in. "I believe and know with all my heart that the prince is alive and in good health. He's probably trying to figure out how to help the people of Nishr."
"Wishful thinking of one so young. Mind your own business." The gossiper snapped and pulled their friend away. Bird let out a sigh and walked back over to Trinn.
"Yeah, mind your own business." Trinn grinned and punched Bird in the shoulder.
"Hmmm..." Bird let out another sigh, having used up all of his words for the day. Trinn knew that Bird wouldn't speak much more that day. The kid was never one to hold a decent conversation with anyone for a long time, except for one person. He looked to the docking platform again. "Hey! Hey! Would you look at that! Glowing from head to toe, it's like looking at two glowing suns next to each other. Oh Bird, I think we found our clients for today." Trinn grabbed Bird's sleeve and towed the quiet boy behind him toward to the glowing figures.
"....Who....?" Bird inquired.
"Jedi! Two of them! Glorious day! They may be the salvation of of our grand city. You can kiss the slavers good-bye, Z-Bird."
"What do Jedi do?" Bird struggled to keep up with Trinn's quick pace as the wove in and out of the crowd of beings.
"You'll see, just follow my lead and don't talk." Trinn slowed to a steady walk. He black cloak flowed lightly behind him and he pulled the hood more over his head. They approached a small starship and waited at the base of its entrance. Trinn stepped forward with Bird hiding behind him, and gave a slight bow. "It isn't often that we have Jedi visiting our planet. What is your business here?" He said in a dark voice, just to see what they would do.

“So, we’re finding a prince, you and I, huh?” Tabitha said with a smile as she landed the ship. She knew she scared the girl sitting next to her, but eventually the girl would warm up to her. “Come on, kid, answer me.”
Freya Sanatore looked up. “Sorry,” she said quickly. “Yes, I believe that’s the mission. It’s just rather . . . this planet is so heavily reliant on slavery—it breaks my heart.”
“You’re a jedi,” Tabitha said with a laugh, killing the engine and lowering the ramp. “You were born to have your heart broken. Now, a padawan like you out without your master is unusual, so I need you to consider me your master, got it?”
“No one can serve two—”
“Consider, Frey-girl. Lighten up,” Tabitha stated, running a hand through her hair before pulling her maroon hood up over her head.
“You’re outfit will attract attention,” Freya commented as the ramp lowered.
Tabitha winked at her. “I know. Don’t go on another tangent about the whole ‘Dathomirian’ thing again, though, okay? I’m proud to be what I am. Just cause I’m a jedi, doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy life.”
Freya shrugged and nodded. “Of course, Miss Lore.”
“Tabitha or Tabby, Frey-girl. We’ve been over this,” Tabitha replied, walking down the ramp proudly, her rancor-lightsaber at her sash.
As they came down, Tabitha in front, Freya shyly remaining a couple steps behind with her head bowed to the ground, Tabitha immediately saw the two figures at the base. “Here’s trouble,” she muttered, before giving them an easy smile.
“It isn’t often that we have Jedi visiting our planet. What is your business here?” the one in front asked with a dark voice.
The voice seemed to make Freya on-guard, as she fiddled with the end of her shirt nervously. But Tabitha wasn’t affected, in fact—she was distracted by something else.
“By the Force!” she exclaimed with a sarcastic tongue that was half-true. “Do they feed you on this planet? Frey, this your homeplanet or something?”
Freya, however, didn’t want to be rude, so she stepped forward and gave the boys a sweet smile. “Hello, we were dispatched by the Order to find your missing Prince.”
Tabitha rolled her eyes. “Kid, could you just shut up a sec, and let me see if these guys are even okay to be talking to? Grant it, they’re more frail than a Kaminoan, so we could take them down easy, but still . . . didn’t your mother ever tell you not to talk to strangers?”
Freya looked to Tabitha. “I was raised by the Order. My mother and I have a distant relationship.” Then turning to the boys, she smiled again. “Sorry, if we seem a bit unorganized together. We’ve just met.”

Trinn grinned and pulled back his hood, giving the two jedi a bright smile. "You two just met? I wouldn't have guessed." He looked behind him at Bird, who said nothing. "We're freelancers. The name's Trinn, the guy behind me is Bird. He doesn't talk much. We're your go-to guys. So you're looking for the prince?" Bird clutched onto Trinn's robe. "The best person to talk to would be Aazon. He knows everything there is to know about Nishr and its people. He knows other things to, but I'm I won't say them here." Trinn turned around quickly and gesture for them to follow. "Come on Jedi, he's just near the cheap side of town." Bird held fast to his cloak.
"...Wait..."
"What is it Bird?" Trinn raised an eyebrow.
"...You're going to wrong way..." He replied softly.
"Ah." Trinn grinned at the Jedi. "It'd be better if we followed Bird. When you're blind, your sense of direction is...off. Lead the way Bird."
Bird nodded and started walking. "...Come..." He said barely above a whisper.

Tabitha stared with a half-smirk at the boys as the littler one (if that was possible) motioned for them to follow him. She was about to snap some rude remark, but then she watched as Freya loyally followed the boy.
“Frey-girl,” Tabitha called, chasing after them, “you—”
“Tabitha, these men are trustworthy, trust me,” Freya said kindly. “I see it in their hearts.”
Tabitha raised an eyebrow. “Really?” she said in a softer voice, as if she were trying to talk without the boys, who obviously could hear her, knowing. “Cause one’s blind and the other doesn’t talk much . They aren’t men, by the way. They’re just little boys.”
“Tabitha, just because one does not have the gift of sight does not mean he cannot see. And just because one does not speak much, does not mean he hasn’t much to say. They will guide us to someone who will help. I trust them,” Freya explained.
Tabitha gave a rude scoff. “Too much poetry for me, kid,” she snapped before turning to the ‘Bird’ fellow. “So why do they call you Bird, kid? Is it because you’re about as small as one? And what’s your name, Blindfolds?”

"Well...uh...it's..." Bird bit his bottom lip and lowered his head. He wished they wouldn't ask about his name. 'Bird' wasn't his real name, but a nickname. If he told them that, then they would ask about his real name. That was the last thing he wanted to give away. He wished they would leave him alone and continue talking to Trinn. Please Trinn, take over the conversation. Bird begged.
"It's just a nickname we give him because he's so fragile!" Trinn punched Bird in the arm and gave him a pat on the back. "I'm just kidding with you buddy. Oh, the name is Trinn...but I feel like I'm repeating myself." Trinn continued to babble on and keep the Jedi busy while they walked.
Bird let out an inward sigh of relief. Trinn could talk all he wanted. Bird had never liked talking because...well...he didn't want to think about it. All he knew was that ever since the slavers took over the planet his life has changed as well as the life of the people. All around him the Nish were suffering. Those who hadn't been taken by slavers were left with little resources and were slowly starving to death. How had it come to this? How had the planet been taken over without a fight?
"And, we're here. It's not much, a bit run down, but it suits its purpose. Just...don't tell the owner I said that." Trinn grinned and followed Bird through the shop's door. A bell rang.
"Hold on, I'll be there in a moment." A voice called from the back of the room.
Bird looked around. He liked the shop, it had a leathery-metallic smell. It was somewhat dark, and there were bits of everything placed randomly on shelves, but the place had a welcoming feel to it. It was nothing like his old home, but it was better. Much better.
"It's just us, plus two more." Trinn called out.
"Ah, Trinn. What voltage do I turn this thing-a-device to without it going you know, kaboom?" A cheerful voice replied.
"Uh, switch the dial to one-thousand." Trinn smiled.
"One-hundred." Bird corrected Trinn. "The manual said one-hundred."
"Ah wait! Aazon! Stop!" Trinn jumped over the shop's counter and rushed to the back. There was a series of clicks and popping noises followed by a loud bang. Bird flinched and looked up to she Trinn coming back, his face splotched with black soot. Aazon followed, without a speck of dirt on him.
"Crisis averted." Aazon fixed his bandanna and and grinned at the two Trinn and then focused on Bird. "Hey, Z, there's food in the back. Why don't you get something to eat?"
Bird shook his head; he didn't have an appetite. The truth was, he hadn't had an appetite since that day. Trinn jumped at the opportunity to eat. "Why didn't you say so!?" He rushed to the back.
"Sorry," Aazon wiped his hands with a gray cloth, "I had to get him out of here. Trinn is a bit of a talker. All mouth, no brain."
Bird smiled and removed his cloak and scarf and set them to the side. He jumped up onto the end of the counter to watch Aazon work. He liked watching his friend work, especially when Aazon negotiated. He was the king of negotiations.
"So, Jedi? We don't get much of you around here." Aazon gave them his signature smirk. The smirk that made men question Aazon's true strength and the smirk that made ladies swoon. Though, Bird doubted that these two Jedi would fall for something like that.
"I'm not into the whole 'peacekeeping' or 'save-the-universe' type of stuff." The shopkeeper continued. "I'll help whoever though. So, what are you looking to do here?" Aazon stopped and straightened up. "Let me guess, you're probably looking for at least one of the princes of Nishr?" Bird stiffened and bit his lower lip. "Yes, there are two of them. The king-fling prince and the true heir to the throne. You're probably looking for the second one I would assume. But, that's all I'm saying for now. Besides, I probably need to gain your trust first."

Freya watched as Bird smiled and removed his cloak and scarf. Without the scarf, Freya saw that his smile was innocent and sweet as he watched his friend work. She found herself distracted by it as her partner, Tabitha stared at the new man, who was around her age.
“So, Jedi? We don’t get much of you around here,” the man named Aazon stated with a smirk that made Tabitha raise an eyebrow and Freya blush slightly. “I’m not into the whole ‘peacekeeping’ or ‘save-the-universe type of stuff. I’ll help whoever though. So, what are you looking to do here? Let me guess, you’re probably looking for at least one of the princes of Nishr?”
Freya gave Tabitha a look at the mention of two princes. They were both in danger? They would of course be looking for both the boys.
“Yes, there are two of them. The king-fling prince and the true heir to the throne. You’re probably looking for the second one I would assume. But, that’s all I’m saying for now. Besides, I probably need to gain your trust first.”
“We obviously would be looking for both of the princes if they’re both in danger,” Freya stated shyly, feeling embarrassed for some reason around the boy.
“What she means by that is,” Tabitha said, giving the girl a glare, “we need to find the heir first. If we happen to find the other one, sure, we’ll take him too.”
“But you have our trust of—”
“Frey-girl, just do me a favor and talk to the Bird for a second or something, kay?” Tabitha commanded, spinning her towards the boy before turning back to Aazon. She extended a fingerless-glove-covered hand towards the man and gave him a knowing smile. “My name’s Tabitha, some people call me Tabby. The little angel-looking thing is Freya Sanatore. She’s a padawan, go easy on her. And before you ask if I’m her master, the answer’s no. It’s complicated. But I want to know about you, Aazon. What makes you so special that these boys brought us to you? What exactly makes you so knowledgeable about Nishr?”
Freya watched Tabitha for a moment before moving her eyes to Bird, whom she granted a sweet, innocent smile. “You should speak more,” she said with the utmost kindness. “You have a beautiful voice. I mean, it’s . . . sorry, I didn’t mean to insult you if that’s how you took it.”

Aazon wasn't pleased, not at all. He made a mental note to tell Trinn in the future not to invent Jedi into his shop ever again. From his experience, the Jedi didn't care, but he wasn't going to let the show. He glanced at Bird, to make sure the kid was okat before looking back at the Jedi.
“Frey-girl, just do me a favor and talk to the Bird for a second or something, kay?” The Jedi said before introducing herself, “My name’s Tabitha, some people call me Tabby.
"What makes me so special?" Aazon pretended to think for a moment. "What makes me special is that I'm not special at all. Bird, Trinn, and I all work as a team. They bring in customers, I get paid, and we have food. Really as simple as that." He moved to a section of the counter to organize. "I could give you my whole life story about being orphaned, rummaging the streets for scraps, being picked up by my master, but that's boring stuff." His eye flickered to Bird, who seemed a little uncomfortable, but not enough so that he needed to be saved. Talking to a member of the opposite gender would probably be good for the kid's social skills anyway. "The usual stuff," he continued. "You'll find that every story like that is here. The reason I know so much about Nishr is the fact that I live here. I follow gossip in my spare time and poke around without doing anything illegal or getting killed. What else would you like to know?"
~~~~~
Bird begged with any higher power that would hear him to keep the girl Freya from talking to him. But, with his sort of dumb luck, she did. He kept his head down as she approached him. The padawan gave him a comforting smile, which really set his nerves on edge even more. “You should speak more,” she said with a kind voice. “You have a beautiful voice. I mean, it’s . . . sorry, I didn’t mean to insult you if that’s how you took it.”
She was a strange girl. She hadn't said anything offensive to him at all, yet she was apologizing nonetheless. Bird clamped his jaw tightly, refusing to speak. But, some how her words had a soothing effect on his jaw, and he bit his lower lip. Bad habit, but it couldn't be helped. He was a mess of nerves and words that was a ticking time bomb. If it were the right time and place, he might accidentally spill everything and for the sake of the Nish people, he couldn't do that.
"...How..." Bird swallowed, "...was it an insult? There was nothing that you said which could have insulted me." He bit his lower lip again. "Do I have permission to ask specifically as to why you have come to Nishr? Much of the main city and many others have been lost to the Zygerrian slavers. The prince is still young and hasn't had any experience with running a government. He is currently in hiding until he can figure out what to do." Bird let out a gasp. "...Oh..." He looked down at he feet, blackened with the dirt from the streets, "...I think I've said too much..."
Tabitha frowned. She wasn’t sure if the man didn’t like her or didn’t like Jedi in general. She understood the dislike of Jedi. They were always so judgmental and on their own level—above everyone and yet below.
“What else would you like to know?"
Tabitha blinked to start thinking again. “Will you help us find the prince? We need some locals, people that know the world. You’re prince is my priority.”
---------------------------------------------------------------
“Do I have permission to ask specifically as to why you have come to Nishr? Much of the main city and many other have been lost to the Zygerrian slavers. The prince is still young and hasn’t had any experience with running a government. He is currently hiding until he can figure out what to do.” Suddenly, the boy realized how much he had said and he gave a gasp. “Oh,” he whispered, looking down at his feet.
Freya followed his gaze and swallowed a lump in her throat when she saw how dirty his feet were and how much they contrasted with her perfectly white robes. The Jedi may have lived off of nothing, but these people . . . they lived off of less.
“I think I’ve said too much.”
Freya glanced at Tabitha, who was deep in conversation with the man, Aazon. She hesitantly looked back at Bird, unsure if Tabitha had kept it from the boys for a reason or not. But when she looked into Bird’s eyes, the frail, dirtied boy pushed a soft answer from her.
“We’re here to rid Nishr of the Zygerrian slavers,” Freya whispered. “We want to help the slaves and drive the slavers out. We wish to restore peace to your world. Are you . . . are you a slave, Bird? Because I promise, we won’t let anything bad happen to you. Slavery breaks my heart, that’s why I wanted to go on this mission, that and my master said I needed to see misery because it is part of life . . . sorry, I didn’t mean to say you’re miserable, that’s not what I . . . I’m sorry. Every time I speak, I say something wrong,” Freya said, hanging her head.
”Nice, Sanatore! Every time you open your stupid mouth, your tiny little brain can’t handle it and you just sputter out idiotic things!”
“At least I mean well! Every time you open yours, your tongue is hateful and unkind,” Freya whispered.
“The hateful and unkind may still survive over the stupid and meek like you,” the boy shouted.
Freya fiddled with the end of her tunic, keeping her eyes away from the boy. “They tease me for it,” she whispered before looking back up at the boy. “But it doesn’t matter.”
Aazon smirked. "Well, lucky for you, I know where the Prince is. Both of them actually, but I know the abandoned prince wants nothing to do with the royal family." He set his elbows on the counter and rested his chin on his hands. "Anyway, putting the prince back in power isn't going to be enough; the slaver will just come back and execute him like they did his parents. Then Nishr will truly be lost. No, what you need to do is work with the rebellion." Aazon nodded, thinking things over. "You need to gather an army, that's why Nishr was taken over so effortlessly; because they had no army to defend them. That's where you should start. Of course, people are tight lipped about the rebellion, and any more information from me is going to cost a price."
-------------------------------
Bird couldn't believe his ears! They had come to help his people drive out the slavers? He felt the dark cloud that had been hanging over his head evaporate and disappear entirely. He grabbed Freya's hands, his eyes shining in excitement. "No, no! I'm not a slave! In fact I'm the---oh! I need to tell Aazon before he tries to make a profit from this." Bird jumped over the counter and grabbed Aazon, who let out a yawp of protest, and dragged him to the back of the room.
"Z, what is going on? That was ru----"
"They are here to help!" Bird said before lowering his voice so only Aazon could hear. "Don't make them pay. Please. When everything get back into order and can pay you tenfold of whatever you could make here. They are here to help free the people and restore peace and balance. Please Aazon. Once everything is back in order life can go back to the way it was."
"Back to the way it was?!" Aazon grabbed Bird's shoulder. "You're fifteen years old. You have no knowledge on how to run a country. Any council you have is going to take your power from you and you'll just become a figurehead. Wait a while. A few years maybe."
"There may not be Nishr in a few years, Aazon." Bird lowered his gaze from the penetrating stare of the blue and green eyes of Aazon. "You're my friend, and the only reason I am alive. If need be you can be on my council of elders, be the voice of the people."
"Bird...."
"No, my name is Zykus, the true heir of the Nishr throne. Don't think that a nickname changes what I am Aazon. Please. Do this for me." Bird smiled at him.
"Ugh! You little pest!" Aazon raised his voice. "Fine!" He marched back over the counter. "Guess what hun, you and your little padawaddle kid get my help for free." He looked back at Bird with a smirk. "That kid has a way with words."
((I'm assuming that my characters didn't hear that he's the prince?))
Freya studied the boy as suddenly, life seemed to flow through him. She jumped when he grabbed her hands. “No, no! I’m not a slave! In fact, I’m the—oh! I need to tell Aazon before he tries to make a profit from this.”
Freya watched in utter surprise as the frail boy leapt over the counter and dragged Aazon in the back room, where they got into a soft but intense discussion.
Tabitha turned around and nailed Freya with a wide-eyed look. “What the heck did you just do?” she asked.
Freya, still feeling a bit caught off guard, shrugged. “I . . . I don’t know. I just was talking to him and I wanted to be truthful and he’s not a slave but he—”
“Oh, shut up,” Tabitha growled, rolling her eyes. “Let’s just hope you didn’t totally ruin everything.”
“Fine!”
Tabitha and Freya turned back to the counter as Aazon marched back over. “Guess what, hun, you and your little padawaddle kid get my help for free.” Tabitha raised an eyebrow. “That kid has a way with words.”
Tabitha glanced at Freya. “Yeah, I guess he’s not the only one,” she muttered before turning back to Aazon. “Well, we need to find your prince. So—”
“Excuse me,” Freya said, shyly appearing at Tabitha’s side and giving Aazon a short smile. “Sorry for cutting in, but . . . but perhaps we . . . if we just . . .”
“Oh, would you spit it out!?” Tabitha growled before turning to Aazon. “This kid . . .”
Freya cowered at Tabitha’s frustration. “I’m sorry. I just . . . I was thinking maybe we should make our mission a bit of a secret. That way, we won’t have people following us to find the Prince when we do and kill him. I mean, his safety is imperative.”
Tabitha rolled her eyes. “Duh,” she said before turning back to Aazon. “I’ll follow your lead for now, pal. What’s the first step to finding this guy?”
((Yes.)) -------------------------------------------------
Aazon raised an eyebrow. Had this chick really not heard anything he had said? He let out an exasperated sigh. "I know the prince's exact location right now, there's no need to find him. The rebellion, as aforementioned, is the best place to start to get him to come out of hiding. However, they work during the night...." He checked the clock. "That's in about ten hours. If you want to do some poking around in the bars, you can. I'm sure Trinn or Bird would be more than willing to help. I would but..." He picked up a rag and threw it over his shoulder, "I have work that I need to do."
"Aazon..." Bird looked up at him with his gray eyes and immediately got the message.
"Or...." Aazon clenched his teeth, "You could stay here and....do...whatever. Your choice. I don't care. Just don't get in the way, and don't touch anything!" He wandered to the back of the room to continue working on his project.
--------------------------------------------------
Trinn walked over to the counter licking each of his fingers before letting out a hearty belch. Bird made a face. "I know all the best taverns, cantinas, bars, whatever you call them. Just tell me what you need to know and Bird and I will take you there."
"I'm staying." Bird said, throwing his cloak around his shoulders to get warm. "Bad things happen in those places."
"Only if you have a cute baby face like yours." Trinn yanked Bird toward him and pinched his cheek. "Too beautiful for your own good, not that I could tell."
Bird pulled away, rubbing the red mark that Trinn had left on his face. He didn't like Trinn's rough teasing. He decided that when he became king, he would outlaw all cheek pinching so that he would save future generations from that sort of humiliation. He opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it. Words had a time and a place, that's what his parents had taught him.
"Okay back to business. Where do you want to go?" Trinn wrung his hands. "And, what do you want to know?"
"I know all the best taverns, cantinas, bars, whatever you call them. Just tell me what you need to know and Bird and I will take you there."
Tabitha shrugged. A drink didn’t sound all that bad actually after such a long journey. However, she knew Freya would disapprove.
"I'm staying." Bird said, throwing his cloak around his shoulders to get warm. "Bad things happen in those places."
Tabitha smirked. Bad things tended to happen whenever a Jedi entered a cantina, but the boy couldn’t of known that. She wondered what he meant by ‘bad things.’
"Only if you have a cute baby face like yours." Trinn pulled Bird towards him and pinched him on the cheek. "Too beautiful for your own good, not that I could tell."
Tabitha was about to add a comment to Trinn’s joke, but it was then she noticed Freya and how red the girl’s face was. Raising an eyebrow, she made a mental notice of it before turning back to Trinn.
"Okay back to business. Where do you want to go? And, what do you want to know?"
Tabitha slipped her hands in her back pockets of her shorts. “I could go for a drink—”
“Tabitha,” Freya protested, “we’re here to help people, not drink.”
“There ain’t a law against it for me,” Tabitha grumbled. “Besides, the more we get to know the locals, the better we’ll be able to fight for them. We’ll try and fit in a bit. The rebels you talk of—what do they do in the day? And I was serious about the drink.”
Bird stood back and watched Freya and her Jedi friend Tabitha argue about going to the cantinas. From the sound of things, Freya was going to the cantinas too. Slowly he backed away and headed to his room. He didn't know the ways of the Jedi, but he figured that there was some code or rule of two. The rule on the streets when you were a beggar was to have someone nearby that could get your back when trouble came around. Still, he wished that Freya would stay behind so they could talk.
Forcefully his pushed his bedroom door open, and it creaked in protest. His room had been a second storage area, but as time went on and Aazon's shop was less supplied, a place had opened up for him to sleep. It was simple, nothing like he had once had. However, Bird had found that living with nothing made him more thankful for the things that he did have or received.
Upon entering he saw a large lump on the stool next to his cot. Bird regarded it for a moment before lifting away the black cloth hiding the contents of the lump. Shoes. And a note.
"Zykus," it read in Aazon's beautiful script, "Found a new pair of shoes for you. Don't give them away like you did with your pair from home. Wear them. Use them. And for stars sake wash your feet before you put them on."
Bird hunched over, trying to contain his laughter. Aazon acted like he didn't care, but he did, somewhere deep inside. There was nothing he could do to repay his friend. He was the reason that he was still alive. The reason he wasn't cold and starving to death. The reason he wasn't alone. Bird moved over to his cot and reached under the pillow. His hand clasped around something hard and cold. He pulled it out and let it dangle in the light.
A pendant. The one thing he owned that came from the palace. The only thing he had that didn't have the royal family crest on it. It's worth to some would be more than enough to live on for an entire lifetime and them some. To him, the only worth it held was that it was his mother's. "It reminds me of your eyes." His mother once told him. He clenched it in his fist. Mother....Father....
Trinn grinned. "Follow me then." He walked out of the shop. Looking in both directions he wondered which cantina they should hit first. Quickly making up his mind he made his way into the crowd of people. Once upon a time the pathways had been filled with the Nish, but now they were filled with slavers and smugglers. He ducked as someone swung a bag over their shoulder, nearly hitting him in the head. "You have to be careful here, people don't watch where they're going." He said to the Jedi. He ducked again and went on his way.
After a bit of walking the finally made it to the first cantina. He liked this place, the bartender was a friend and most people were willing to talk about anything after a few drinks. "This is the place." He grinned before walking in.
"Yo! Trinn! How's business going?" The bartender called out to him. Viowin, a Zabrak with auburn skin and tribal like tattoos. That's what Aazon had told him at least. He looked tough, but was a real softy on the inside, though he would only show that side to people he was close friends with. "How about a drink?"
"I'll let you know when I really want to be blind." Trinn grinned, taking a seat at the counter. Being born blind was bad enough. However, ever since he was born, Trinn had been able to 'see' shapes and forms based on their connection to the Force. The brightness and colors of the Force were overwhelming sometimes, but those were on rare occasions like the Jedi. Most of the time he was used to seeing gray auras. Bird did have a brighter glow with a light blue hue to his aura, but it was only enough to pick him out from a sea of gray. Aazon on the other hand, was brimming with a deep blue aura that highlighted his every feature. It was beautiful, annoying, and frightening all at the same time, but that's how his vision worked. "We need some information." He said at Viowin placed a glass of water in front of Trinn.
((I left it open in my post for you to decide if Freya goes along or stays behind.))
Freya watched Trinn and Tabitha leave and decided that Tabitha would be fine on her own. She seemed that type of person. After all, she had heard rumors of Tabitha, how she had left the Order—rebelled—and gone off to ‘have fun.’ When the Jedi Order found her in a coma, she claimed she hadn’t defected, but she suddenly had a skill with Nightsister weapons. But she was a confident girl, always shushing Freya—which meant Freya was always wrong, obviously.
Freya hugged herself and backed away from the entrance, jumping when she hit something. She spun around to see the counter, but for good measure, she quickly apologized to it. Suddenly, she regretted staying behind, as Bird had disappeared and Aazon was working on something. Freya fiddled with her hair and silently looked around the place before walking hesitantly to the Aazon man, who quite frankly made her uneasy.
“Do you . . . do you need any help?” Freya asked softly when she approached him, flinching a bit at the possibility that he might take it as an insult that he would require help from a small girl like her.
"We need some information." Trinn said as he was given a glass of water.
“And a drink,” Tabitha added, casually before turning to Trinn. “So . . . I’m not one for research and I didn’t bother to ask the little Frey-girl. How long since the slavers took over your planet? And how exactly can you react to things and see people while still being blind?”
