As Freya rode out of town, she could feel Zykus’s hesitancy. She didn’t blame him, he wasn’t hanging onto anything. It didn’t take long before he hesitantly slipped his arms around her waist and held onto her for safety. At least she assumed it was safety, after all, what else could it be?
She jumped a bit when she felt his head besides hers. “We need to head for the mountains. I’m not sure which one right now because they are far away, but I can tell you when we get closer.”
Freya nodded and smiled reassuringly, though she hoped they weren’t flying into a trap. For a moment, Tabitha crossed her mind—afterall, the woman was very important, but no, this was her main mission—she had to protect Zykus.
“Does this make you nervous?” she asked over the wind and engine roar, glancing back at him. “It made my old master very nervous, going fast that is.”

“Make you wait?!” Tabitha laughed as she hopped on the speeder. “See if you can keep up with me, hotshot.” She fired up the engine and smiled—she loved vehicles—she loved to go fast too.

“Does this make you nervous?” Freya asked while looking back at him. “It made my old master very nervous, going fast that is.”
Zykus hadn't thought of being nervous before. Compared to being hunted constantly, nearly found out, and giving speeches in front of the court, this was next to nothing. This was the first time he had ridden on a speeder. "To be honest, I find it quite thrilling. This is my first time on a speeder. Aazon has them hidden in a garage back at the shop and he barely uses them. I don' know how to steer them so I can't go out on my own." He grinned. "It is very fun to stretch my wings and try something new, you know?" He scanned the mountain range. "There! To the northwest. There is a black hole in the side of the mountain, that is where we will go!"
~~~~~~~~~
"Ohhh! You're on!" Aazon revved up his speeder's engine and sped out of the garage. Trinn let out a yelp and he grinned wildly. He had to admit it, racing speeders was definitely a favorite hobby. And, he loved it when someone could match his skill. Though, Tabitha probably had the Force to help her maneuver better than he could, but that didn't mean she would win.
In the end, they nearly tied. Tabitha won by only a few inches. "I call a draw," Aazon shut the speeder off, "That pedestrian walked in front of my speeder and I lost a few feet because of it."
Trinn groaned. "I will walk home." He covered his mouth and then steadied himself. "Too many moving objects, and too fast."
"I assume that this one is your ship, right?" Aazon pointed over his shoulder.
"It is very fun to stretch my wings and try something new, you know? There! To the northwest. There is a black hole in the side of the mountain, that is where we will go!"
Freya smiled. Trying something new. Yes, she knew what he meant. This whole mission was something new, for both her and the Order. It was new for Tabitha too, but she just didn’t know it yet.
Veering to the northwest, Freya took the speeder into the hole he had pointed to. “I’m trusting you,” she said, not in a threatening way, just in a way that meant she respected him no matter the outcome of this.
Tabitha, come to this place, Freya whispered through her mind to her partner.
Since when were you so bossy? was Tabitha’s retort.
Freya bit her lip, hoping she wasn’t sounding too bossy, and secretly hoped Zykus would stay close to her. She was sickeningly nervous about the situation, since so much was at stake.
"I assume that this one is your ship, right?" Aazon pointed over his shoulder.
“Yep,” Tabitha said with a wink, marching up the ramp that she pulled down with the force. As she passed Aazon, she elbowed him in the side. “Beat by a girl, that’s pitiful,” she joked, skipping into the cockpit and starting the ship. “Get on, boys. The world doesn’t wait for slowpokes.”
“I’m trusting you," Freya said to him.
What wasn't to trust? Zykus wondered. She had not given him a reason not to trust her, and he hadn't given her a reason not to trust him. Wait....I did keep my true identity from her, but that was for my safety. Does Freya not trust me because of that? Zykus swallowed and nodded, unable to say anything.
When they reached the cave, Freya pulled the speeder to a stop. Zykus pointed into the cave. "I think it may be best to keep this speeder out of sight just in case any slavers come this way."
"Right." Freya replied and turned the speeder into the cave and road it far enough into the darkness so that you would have to travel in the cave to find it.
"The speleothems, well, the stalagmites, are marked somehow. If we follow the marked path, it will lead up through this cave and under the mountain to the rebel's base camp." Zykus pulled a pen light out of his pocket and studied the rock formations for a few minutes. They both searched for some sort of marking or pattern that would show them the way. "Odd," Zykus bent down and studied the base of a stalagmite, all the pebbles and dirt had placed to one side. He moved onto the next stalagmite and smiled. The rocks were placed in the front and center of the stalagmite. "I figured it out!" Zykus called to Freya. "The position of the rocks at the base of each stalagmite is the direction we are supposed to go."
--------------------------------------------------- “Yep,” Tabitha said with a wink. As she passed him, she elbowed him in the side with a grin, “Beat by a girl, that’s pitiful,” she joked. “Get on, boys. The world doesn’t wait for slowpokes.” Aazon didn't comment, in all truth, he was upset that he was beat by a girl. But, he wasn't going to show it.
Aazon looked behind him as he stepped up onto the ramp. He looked down at Trinn, who was still clinging onto the speeder. He marched back down the ramp and grabbed the kid and tossed him over his shoulder like a sack of grain. Trinn wriggled and kicked, trying to get away. "Put me down! I can walk!."
"I'm sure you can," Aazon set Trinn down after the ramp had been pulled up and the entrance to the ship had been shut. He walked to the cockpit and studied the controls, letting out a low whistle. "Impressive tech, way more advanced than what you can find on this dump. By the way, does this thing have cloaking ability? I don't want us to be followed by any of the Zygerrians and reveal the location of the rebel base."
"I figured it out!" Zykus called to Freya. "The position of the rocks at the base of each stalagmite is the direction we are supposed to go."
Freya finished disguising her speeder in the back and hurried to him. She walked lightly and it was almost a dance or a prance the way her feet were so light against the ground and made no sound.
“Really?” Freya exclaimed softly, clasping her hands together proudly, her eyes glittering from impressment. “You are so knowledgeable, Zykus! It’s wonderful. Let us go.” With that, Freya took the lead, knowing if anyone should die first, it had to be her. Her lightsaber was on her belt, but she didn’t intend on using it. “These rebels . . . do they know about you?”
Tabitha gave an easy smile as she flew the ship towards where Freya was calling her. “Cloaking ability? Of course. I’ll only use it for the sake of the mission, typically, I’m in no need to disappear,” Tabitha said easily, pressing a couple buttons to activate a cloak. Once she set the coordinates, she propped her feet on the controls and leaned back. “So, these rebels . . . you technically a part of them? Or are they going to shoot us out of the sky when we get close?”
“Really?” Freya exclaimed with an impressed tone. “You are so knowledgeable, Zykus! It’s wonderful. Let us go.” Zykus turned away blushing. While he had been cooped up in his home, he had had plenty of time to read. When it came to things like cracking codes or surviving in the wild, he had plenty of knowledge. However, he had never put that knowledge to practice or use. “These rebels," Freya pulled Zykus back into the world, "Do they know about you?”
Zykus ran his fingers through his hair. "Ah, I didn't think about that. Unless Aazon has said something, then they won't know it is me." He sat down to think. Aazon knew that he would head toward the caves, but the rebels didn't know they would be coming. The rebels wouldn't be so rash as to kill one of their own. They would probably await orders from whoever was in charge. "I think we'll be okay. The rebels wouldn't kill another Nish. I think they would welcome the help of a jedi as well. Let's just take it slowly so Aazon has time to warn them that we are coming."
“Cloaking ability? Of course. I’ll only use it for the sake of the mission, typically, I’m in no need to disappear,” Tabitha repleid while pressing a few buttons. She leaned back in her chair. “So, these rebels . . . you technically a part of them? Or are they going to shoot us out of the sky when we get close?”
Aazon nodded, rather pleased that the ship was cloaked. He stared out at the mountains through the cockpit window. "You could say that I'm a part of them. I'll let them know we are coming over comlink before we get in range of their weapons." Aazon reached into his pocket to reveal a comlink. He switched it on, waiting for the light to turn on, signalling that it was with range of another rebel link. The light switched from red to blue, he smiled. "Black-Leader, this is Aazon, requesting permission to land."
"So you're the ship that just appeared on our radar. Thanks for the warning, Aazon. We might've shot you outta the sky. You're cleared for landing, give us a moment to clear the hologram." Aazon looked out the cockpit window, just in time to see a section of trees clear below. "Bring the ship down there." He pointed and Tabitha brought the ship don easily. "Not many women can fly, or land for that matter, I have to say I'm a little impressed." He smiled and stood up and went to the door before she could reply with a witty come back.
"Are we there yet?" Trinn looked at him, slightly green in the face. "I'm not sure how much longer I can handle this."
"We're here," Aazon replied with an amused look. He opened the ship's door and Trinn ran passed him and out the door. Aazon walked down the ramp to greet a rebel who had come to meet them. "Yo, Jetok!." He waved a hand.
"Hail, to the second---"
"Have you had any reports about two younger kids in the caves? The shop was attacked," Zykus cut him short to get to down to business, "The prince escaped and fled to the caves with a young jedi. They should be there and on their way here."
"Jedi?" Jetok thought for a moment. "No news of a prince or of a jedi, I will let the rebels in the caves know so they can keep an eye and ear open for them." He nodded to Tabitha and pulled Aazon close to whisper in his ear, "So you found Jedi, eh? How did you manage to do that, second prince? Bribery? A promise that you don't intend to keep? Perhaps something else?"
Aazon shoved him away, rather annoyed. "What do you take me for?" He shook his head. "Just go let the other's know about the prince and the young jedi please."
"Of course." Jetok nodded with a grin and ran off.
Aazon put a hand to his forehead. "Seriously," he looked at Tabitha, "Well, welcome to the rebel base." He looked behind him and chuckled to himself, because nothing was in sight. "We actually have to head into the caves. The ship will remain cloaked here while we go to the real rebel base."
[Freya can't keep a secret about herself. It makes her feel like she's lying, ha-ha.]
"I think we'll be okay. The rebels wouldn't kill another Nish. I think they would welcome the help of a jedi as well. Let's just take it slowly so Aazon has time to warn them that we are coming."
Freya nodded and bit her lip. “You think that they’re alright? I mean, your friends are surely, but Tabitha . . . she’s not a master . . . she . . . she’s far from it.” It was killing her on the inside—keeping this a secret from everyone—including Tabitha. Going to Zykus, Freya placed her hands on his shoulders and looked him in the eyes. “Zykus, your secret has been revealed to me. I know I hardly know you, but I feel morally wrong keeping this a secret. May I tell you a secret? You must not tell anyone else of this.” Freya’s eyes pierced into Zykus’s with a certain desperation, as if he were her only true friend in the world. And quite literally, she realized he was. Tabitha wasn’t her friend—far from it, and the other boys were gruff, but Zykus—he was gentle—he understood her in a sort of way that no one had before. When Zykus gave a nod, Freya chewed her lip for a moment. “I didn’t get sent on this mission to learn from Tabitha—she got sent on this mission to learn from me. I am a Jedi Knight. I have a very powerful connection with the Force and I rank above her. They don’t trust her because she has a troubled past—that is why I’m here. I am truly the leader. The Order didn’t realize how serious this situation was and so they sent me, possibly their youngest Jedi Knight, in to assess the situation with a questionably loyal Jedi. I am sorry, Zykus, that the greatest of power you have is within a frail girl like me—I am sorry.” Freya’s eyes flickered with fear as she realized she had been leaning closer and closer as she spoke. Quickly, she backed away from him and hugged herself. “You mustn’t tell a soul,” she whispered. “It could jeopardize everything. The moment Tabitha realizes she is not in control is the moment everything goes out of control.” There was silence and Freya closed her eyes and pursed her lips. “Please, say something,” she softly pleaded.
- - - - - - - - - - ------ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “Jedi?” the rebel man said, in thought. “No news of a prince or of a jedi, I will let the rebels in the caves know so they can keep an eye and ear open for them.” The man then nodded towards Tabitha, who in turn flashed him a confident, almost arrogant smile. But then the man was whispering to Aazon and Tabitha didn’t like that.
She was about to ask Trinn to tell her what they were saying, but rolled her eyes when she realized that the man was blind. “Some help you are,” she grumbled at the man, who was oblivious to her thought-processes.
Her attention was brought back to Aazon when he shoved the rebel away. “What do you take me for?” Tabitha raised an eyebrow. “Just go let the others know about the prince and the young jedi please.”
“Of course,” the rebel said, grinning as he ran off.
Aazon put a hand on his forehead. “Seriously,” he grumbled before looking at Tabitha. “Well, welcome to the rebel base.” He chuckled and motioned for Tabitha and Trinn to follow him. “We actually have to head into the caves. The ship will remain cloaked here while we go to the real rebel base.”
Tabitha shrugged and checked for her weapons, which were there for most any situation, since she always found a way to use them. Then, catching up to Aazon, pulling Trinn along, since frankly, it freaked her out that the blind guy could walk on his own without any guidance, Tabitha studied him with a raised eyebrow. “So, whisper-boy, you going to tell me what your little friend was whispering? What can you know that I can’t? I am, after all, kind of the lead jedi here to save your skin.”
(She's got me cracking up! [Even though this scene is somewhat serious] I can't help but laugh!)
“You think that they’re alright? I mean, your friends are surely, but Tabitha . . . she’s not a master . . . she . . . she’s far from it.” Zykus considered the thought. Trinn, although he was blind, was really good at fighting or knowing when to run. And Aazon, he could hold his own in a fight, which is the reason he had earned the respect of some of the Zygerrian slavers. “Zykus," Freya continues on, "Your secret has been revealed to me. I know I hardly know you, but I feel morally wrong keeping this a secret. May I tell you a secret? You must not tell anyone else of this.“ Zykus swallowed, startled by Freya's intensity. Fully caught off guard, he could only manage a nod.
"I didn’t get sent on this mission to learn from Tabitha—she got sent on this mission to learn from me. I am a Jedi Knight. I have a very powerful connection with the Force and I rank above her." Zykus leaned back as Freya drew closer to him as her intensity grew. "They don’t trust her because she has a troubled past—that is why I’m here. I am truly the leader. The Order didn’t realize how serious this situation was and so they sent me, possibly their youngest Jedi Knight, in to assess the situation with a questionably loyal Jedi." Their faces where inches away from each other. It took every bit of strength he had to keep looking at her eyes, which was like staring into the sun. He hoped that she would notice sooner or later. "I am sorry, Zykus, that the greatest of power you have is within a frail girl like me—I am sorry.” Freya paused and quickly backed away from him. He looked away tugged at the edge of his sleeve. Freya hugged herself in a self-soothing way. “You mustn't tell a soul,” she whispered. “It could jeopardize everything. The moment Tabitha realizes she is not in control is the moment everything goes out of control.” Zykus was speechless. What could he say to her? “Please, say something,” she pleaded in a still voice.
Zykus pinched his upper lip. What should he say? "I---" He stopped trying to gather his thoughts. "I promise I won't say anything to Tabitha or anyone." He tried to give her a reassuring smile, but failed miserably. "I'm such and idiot,"he thought. "But, I feel like you understand the position I'm in. So far, as we currently know, I'm the single heir that is willing to take the throne. I have no idea how to lead a planet of people depending on me for almost everything. I'm not prepared for such a huge responsibility. Someone like Aazon would be better suited to rule." He smiled this time, almost laughing. "I guess I'm not making much sense. But, I do feel safer with you here, even if you don't believe it. I think you have a lot more power in you than you know. The power to give others courage is one of the greatest powers you can have, at least, that's what my father says...or said...."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (I want to enter in some of the rebels, if you want to you can, if not, I'll do it in the next post.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Trinn didn't particularly like being pulled along like a little kid. He tried to pull away from the Jedi that had a hold of his arm, but her grip was tight and solid. He probably wasn't going to be free anytime soon. Yet, he hated how people thought he needed help because of his blindness. If anything, everyone else was blind except him. He could see more and sense more than most beings, which was why you didn't find him running into walls or tripping over rough surfaces.
"So, whisper-boy, you going to tell me what your little friend was whispering? What can you know that I can’t? I am, after all, kind of the lead jedi here to save your skin." Tabitha asked Aazon.
Aazon looked back at her. Trinn pictured a mildly amused look about Aazon as he regarded her question. "That's classified information," he put a finger to his lips and winked at her, and turned back around, "...something that I won't so easily share. Probably never share. And, if I recall correctly, I was the one who took out all the Zygerrians that attacked me. I can hold my own. You can leave if you want to, seeing as you guys will probably serve as back-up when we take back Nishr," he said jokingly.
"Yeah right," Trinn rolled his head, since he didn't really have any eyes to roll. He looked at Tabitha, "Can you let me go? I can walk on my own."

[Ha-ha, that's good, I suppose. I'm not entirely sure about the whole Rebels and how they operate and what they're like, so I'll leave them to you for now. ] “The power to give others courage is one of the greatest powers you can have, at least, that's what my father says...or said...." Freya’s heart swelled at the boy’s fabulous words and she gave him a purely passionate smile. “Zykus, your words are so beautiful. Just listen to yourself. You have the ability to change people’s hearts, Zykus. Thank you . . . for your words. They comfort me.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - “You can leave if you want to, seeing as you guys will probably serve as back-up when we take back Nishr," Aazon said jokingly. Both Trinn and Tabitha laughed. “Yeah, right,” Trinn said, rolling his head before creepily looking straight at Tabitha. “Can you let me go? I can walk on my own.” Tabitha felt a little sheepish and she let go of him with a bit of a blush. But she quickly regained her attitude and placed a hand on her hip. “Sorry. It’s just creepy that you can walk on your own. Besides, if you could see, pal, you’d be okay having a beautiful woman like me on your arm. Aazon’s probably been jealous this whole time,” Tabitha said with a smirk, knowing the moment they were back with Freya, she wouldn’t be allowed such casual jokes anymore.

Zykus turned away, blushing intensely. He was thankful that the cave was dark enough to hide his reddening face. "Freya, I---" Someone pushed him face first into the cave floor. Zykus barely had time to yell before he was fully detained.
"Who sent you?!" A rough voice rattled his brain. "Your Zygerrian master? Who sent you?"
Zykus tried to turn his head to see where Freya was. Had she escaped? Was she hiding? Zykus gritted his teeth. "I am my own master!" He struggled against the weight pushing him down. These rebels had a right to be cautious, but to the extent of a blaster in his back. He mustered up as much courage as he could and spoke in a condescending tone. "I am Zykus, prince of Nishr and rightful heir to the throne. Release me!"
The blaster was pushed harder into his back. "Yeah, and I'm the dead king. We don't have any proof that the high prince is even alive. Can you prove it? Huh?! Now, who sent you?"
"Aazon! His shop was attacked by Zygerrians." Zykus caught himself from indicating there was another person somewhere nearby. He felt the Freya was close by, but he wasn't really sure where. "I escaped through a secret room and followed Aazon's emergency escape instructions.
"Aazon?" One of the rebels asked. "Hold on, let me check the com-link." There was a long pause and a few short words. "I just talked to Aazon himself. He said that if we see a scrawny boy and a younger looking girl, they are on our side."
"Where's your girlfriend pretty boy?" The rebel laughed. "Since there is only you, what should we do? Hmm? You tell me."

Zykus turned away bashfully and Freya smiled a bit. “Freya, I—”
Freya sensed the danger only moments before it happened and she leapt upwards—into the shadowy ceiling of the cave. There were little holes that one could hide within if they used the proper amount of Force.
Zykus yelled and Freya’s heart pinched at the sound.
“Who sent you?!” a rough rebel shouted at Zykus and Freya felt like yelling at them to stop. But until the situation turned deadly or peaceful, she knew it would be best if she stayed were she was. “Your Zygerrian master?! Who sent you?”
Zykus struggled a bit, gritting his teeth. He tried to explain who he was, but the rebels didn’t believe him. It wasn’t tell Aazon’s name was mentioned that they laid off him.
“Where’s your girlfriend, pretty boy?” the rebel laughed cruelly. “Since there is only you, what should we do? Hmm? You tell me.”
Freya knew this was her time to protect him. If they were planning to do anything harmful—she would have to intercept. She would gladly do so. For his sake.
Dropping down from the ceiling, Freya landed without a sound in the center of all the rebels. Reaching out, Freya gave a push with the Force that knocked the blaster from the man’s hand. She then took Zykus’s arm and helped him to his feet, standing in front of him.
“Please,” she said calmly, even though her use of the Force undoubtedly caught them off guard. “We are allies. Do not harm us and if you must . . . harm me. But leave him be—keep him safe.” Turning to Zykus, Freya gave him a concerned look. “Are you alright?” she asked softly.

"I'm fine," Zykus brushed off his shirt, "I knew you wouldn't leave me high and dry. Still...." Zykus looked at the rebels.
"Sorry, young majesty, you just can't be too careful these days. We've lost a few good men recently because we were too quick to trust spies. Our humblest apologizes to you and your lady friend." The rebel leader said sheepishly. He straightened up, "Right, let's get you to the base and reunite you with Aazon...and other friends."
Zykus hesitated, and looked a Freya, before following behind the rebels. "I have a question," He said after a few minutes, "I've heard rumors that the second prince is part of the rebel group. If that is the case...then...do you know who he is?"
The rebel raised an eyebrow at him, "You mean to say that you don't know?"
Zykus shook his head, "I've never known. It wasn't a topic anyone discussed in the palace. I don't even know his name or what he looks like. But, being the second prince would make him my brother...well, my half brother at least."
"If you don't know now, then there must be a reason for it." The rebel replied, "I'm not at liberty to disclose that sort of information to you. I wish I could. I'm fairly sure that the second prince will reveal his identity soon enough. Or, you will come to figure it out." The rebel guard stopped suddenly. "We're here."
Zykus skidded to a halt and peered around the guard. He sucked in a sharp breath and tightened his jaw to keep it from dropping to the floor. The whole rebel base was underground. Not only that, but the technology was something you would only find in factories or in the palace. "This is----"
"Amazing, I know. It still takes my breath away every time I come down here." The rebel chuckled.
"Yeah....I can see why." Zykus said. "It is like a city of bronze."

"We're here."
Zykus stopped and Freya quickly stopped behind him, moving a bit to the side to see past him. She gave a small gasp and covered her mouth at the amazing sight. It was beautiful in it’s own way—definitely not something you’d expect to find underground—flawless. And it was Zykus’s. All of these people were here for him—because of him—to help bring his people back—united.
"This is--" Zykus started.
"Amazing, I know. It still takes my breath away every time I come down here,” the guard said with a chuckle.
"Yeah....I can see why." Zykus said. "It is like a city of bronze."
Freya blinked. “It is fantastic,” she whispered. “I do understand why you were so strongly cautious of our entry—even though we are but children. Where are Aazon, Trinn, and my . . . fellow Jedi? Do you know? They’re safety was at risk when we left. My priority was to remove Zkyus from the dangerous environment. But you must understand, they were in danger. Do you know of their whereabouts?”
